Summary: Arguably my favorite book ever
Review: This book does a really good job of summing up the rest of the Prydain series. The sword Drywynn is stolen and brought to Annuvin. The fate of the entire land is now on the shoulders of a small band of warriors. This book answers all the the questions the previous four books left you with. If you like fantasy or Lloyd Alexander books, I would strongly suggest this!

Summary: ok but not a 5 star book at all
Review: This is one of those books in which the names of the characters and places are so weird that it interferes with the reading of the book. Its almost as if names were created by randomly selecting letters from the alphabet.

Summary: The High King gets my highest review!
Review: The High King is a great book. It is one of my favorite books. Lloyd Alexander has done it again. He captures your attention with powerful words. You can never be able to put the book down. The book is about a boy, Taran, who teams up with his companions, and the powerful Prince Gwydion, in a magical land, Prydain. They try to reclaim a sword stolen by the evil Arawn. Read the book, and you'll find our why I like the book so much. If you don't read it, youdon't know what you're missing out on.

Summary: Tolkien for the young (and the young at heart)
Review: _The High King_ brings to a rousing conclusion Lloyd Alexander's magnificent blending of Welsh mythology and Tolkienesque heroic fantasy. This is definitely the most reminiscent of _The Lord of the Rings_ of all the Prydain books, but that isn't a bad thing. Tolkien had the right formula, and there's nothing wrong with using it, as long as you use it well--which Alexander certainly does. In this novel Taran finally becomes a full-fledged hero, following the quests and disappointments of the preceding novel. If _Taran Wanderer_ was the quietest of the series, this more than makes up for it, with treacherous lords, deathless Cauldron-Born, and relentless Huntsmen aplenty. Alexander weaves together all the threads he has spun in the previous novels, but without appearing to force anything. I read this novel first in the series, which definitely wasn't a good idea. But even without the others, it was excellent. As the capstone of an excellent series, it is superb.

Summary: The best book I ever read as a kid
Review: The High King finishes up Lloyd Alexander's wonderful story of Taran and his friends. I first read this series over 20 years ago. The High King was the first and only book that made me cry at the end. The ending is so bittersweet and wonderful. This series is a must for all kids and parents.

Summary: The High King Review
Review: I recently finished the high king by Lloyd alexander and it wasone of the best books I have ever read, though the rest of the seriesbefor reading it. It chronicles Tarans arrival into manhood and his heroic deeds alongsid Gwydion prince of don, and his crowning as High King of Prydain. I recomend The high king to anyone who enjoys a good fantasy

Summary: Adventures In Prydain
Review: The adventures are wonderful, and meant to be read over and over again. To take you to a place far away from all your worries. The Book of Three is about a boy who is an assistant pig keeper and one day his pig runs away and when he sets out looking for her, he finds adventure instead. The Black Cauldron shares the adventure of Taran and his companions, as they travel to distroy the evil Black Cauldron. The Castle of Llyr tells the readers about Eilonwy Achren, and new characters as well. Taran Wanderer supplies us with the need to know who Taran really is and why he feels he needs parantage so much. The High King's story tells of Taran, and his companions, and what at last makes Annuvain fall. Also what becomes of everybody afterward. But, most of all the stories of Prydain are full of adventure, secrets, and magic. They are magnificent! And for those readers who are familiar with Prydain, the adventures may never end!

Summary: so good!
Review: I thought this was one of the best Prydian books. The Black Cauldren was really good too. There's a lot of action in "The high King" and it goes in depth more. (if you know what i mean.) But if you read this book before the rest of the series, you'll miss out on many important details and it'll ruin the the rest of the books and I recommend you read them all!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good ending to a good series.
Review: What a satisfying conclusion. For a few pages there, I thought I was going to be really upset at the ending. Alexander really made me care for the characters throughout the series. You can also tell a big difference between the characters at the beginning of the series and at the end. They've grown and matured and their world views have changed. All in all, a very good series.

Summary: It Might Confuse You
Review: Drynwyn is the most powerful weapon in Prydain. Now Taran, an assistant pig keeper during the medieval age must travel to Mount Dragon evil's strong hold. During a winter of danger Taran reaches Mount Dragon. He faces Arawn evil deathlord, and makes the most crucial desicion of his life.

This book wasn't a very good novel. It was a little violent and the names are confusing. Like the name Eilonwy is a diffucult name to say. This book is confusing unless you read the other books in the series. (The Prydain Chronicles) They don't descibe the setting of characters in the book. They just jump right into the story where it left off from the other book. This book is a little like The Hobbit, by J.R.R Tolkien. I like The Hobbit a lot better. The Hobbit was easier to follow and was very well written. I sugjest that you read the other books first. This wasn't one of his best written books. That is why I rated it like I did.
