Summary: Not as good as I expected, but still good enough.
Review: Judging from the rave reviews other people have left behind on this site, I expected this to be an amazing, wonderful, really outstanding book. It's not.

Dont get me wrong, I found it to be an interesting enough read, and I will definatly be reading the next few in the series, but there is nothing in it that I havent seen (or rather, read) before.

At a first glance the storyline seems quite cliche. You know the drill, shy, wallflowerish girl with average looks discovers she has magical powers and finds her True Love (who is really, really good looking and seems to only have eyes for her). But as things get going, you'll find that things dont go as you'd expected...

To sum it up, this is a good book to read when you're bored or feel like reading something a little magical. It also protrays Wicca in a positive light (no burning cats or blood-letting here!), although you mut remember that this is a FICTIONAL STORY so dont expect the wiccan details to be spot-on.

Summary: Sweep series by cate Tiernan
Review: I have read all the books until 12! At the begining of the first one it is a little bit boring but it unravels a whole wonderful world of magick, betrayal, love and adventure. Morgan is introduced to the world of magick by her first love Cal Blair but when his half brother Hunter Nail comes in things change.I have never enjoyed reading this much in my life! It's the best series ever! My favorite is Spellbound #6 and Seeker#10 (wich is written in Hunter's point of view)

Summary: Overall, a good book, but
Review: I would have given this book 5 stars except for a few errors involving wicca. Overall, this was a good book. The characters were well written and the story was engaging. There were a few liberties the author took I am sure due to the fact that she was writing a fictional book revolving around wicca. Although I am not wiccan, I have studied wicca rudimentarily. A person cannot decide to become wiccan until they are 18, and yet a major character claims that he was wiccan since he was 14. This may not be considered a major error, but I think it may be misleading to some younger readers (and may cause some wiccans to raise an eyebrow). I think that when writing about a real movement (religion or whatever), even in a fictional sense, one should write as accurately as possible. Tiernan may redeem herself in her later books and I certainly will read them. The reader should just be aware that this is not reflective of true wicca.

Summary: So-So Wiccan Series
Review: Bree is popular, as is Mary K., whereas, Morgan is somewhat of a wallflower. That is, until Cal Blaire, and his Wiccan religion show up in Widow's Vale. Cal quickly starts holding weekly Wiccan Circles, which Morgan is enjoying more than anything. Especially once she realizes that she holds a special power herself. Everything is fine until her VERY Catholic parents find out about her interest in Wicca.

I found that the first book in the SWEEP series, BOOK OF SHADOWS was somewhat boring, and a little bit cliched. Morgan is a fun character, but her so-called best friend, Bree, is a self-centered, stuck up, witch (no pun intended), who thinks that the world not only revolves around her, but also that every guy in the world is in love with her. Cal is an interesting character. Unfortunately, I thought that he didn't have a big part in the book, and, had he, I think that the book would have been better, and that I probably would have rated it higher. Overall, I will admit that Tiernan is a talented writer, who did tons of research for this book, I just didn't enjoy the way that it turned out.

Summary: Now I just need to rest!
Review: What a great page turner! It took me about 1 and a half days to read it and it just got better and better.
I had been interesting in getting into wicca before and it inspired me to go find someone to help me out. I know some of the stuff is a lil far fetched about wicca but alot of it seems to be true.
This books got everything even a hotty named Cal!
This is a awesome book, for ne age group!

Summary: Book of shadows= #1
Review: When i first picked up this book i was trying to get a wider range on reading material. I saw the cover and it looked intesting so i bought. Soon enough I was reading it 24/7. This series is a good way to get you started on fiction witchcraft books. Morgan plays a strong character that is going through a tough time. Having a first love with a twist is the best way to go. I give this 5 stars and more!

Summary: Sweepstakes
Review: This is the Wiccan equivalent of Focus on the Family's library of Young Adult Fiction. Indoctrination is ugly no matter what religion. If children have no natural interest in a given philosophy, we shouldn't try to make it more appealing to them by dressing it up with teenage romance and intrigue.

Summary: Awesome book and series
Review: i love the book and the series. i am wiccan myself. and for all the people who say it was no good cause theres like no relation to wicca, that's the point of fiction. it's a FICTION book series. it doesnt have to have any thing to do with wicca. the characters are so cool. sure sometimes they can be mean. or shallow. or "un-realistic" according to some people. But what teen isn't shallow at some points. and some girls acctually do choose guys over friends. it happens. and belive it or not, some teens i know would jump in a pool naked. but that's not the point. Cate Teirnan is a wonderfull author. the book is well writtin. the story line is wonderfull. i recamend the whole series as well as the sweep super special. even though i havent read it yet i know it will still be awesome like the rest of the series.

Summary: Better than Circle of Three
Review: I picked up the first several books in this series (don't understand the name yet) and was pleasantly surprised.

Morgan is the main character and things get started when the new boy arrives in school (Cal Blaire, get used to the names, there seem to be a lot of 'witch' names Morgan, Blaire, Warren, etc.).

Cal is a follower of Wicca and tries to get a bunch of the seniors and juniors involved (although it seems like he might be looking specifically for Morgan).

A group is formed and Morgan has to deal with old friends, new friends, catholic parents and upbringing, nudity, her younger sister and possible feelings for Cal.

The story goes from the just before the Summer Solstice through Halloween (although I had a hard time believing that much time passed, shouldn't seniors now be going to college?).

Other than the time scheme (where did the Summer go?), it is a well crafted story and one can believe Morgan's reactions to events. Am looking forward to the rest of the series.

Summary: a worthy teen/witch novel
Review: It is so hard for authors to come up with new and interesting appraoches to old subjects such as witches, vampires, and werewolves. Cate Tierna, has done a pretty good job of bringing the intrigue of wicca and being a teenager. The series is quite catchy and younger readers will probably enjoy it. It is told mainly from the point of view of Morgan a normal 16 year old girl whose life changes when the hot mysterious Cal comes to town. Cal introduces Morgan to wicca and from there her life is never the same. The book is a fairly quick read. It is best for those to start with book one b/c books later in the series do not offer much background and will leave the reader confused. Enjoy.
