Summary: Stunning Book
Review: Morgan Rowlands is your typical teenage girl, worrying about her looks, and grades. She feels like she's plain and boring unlike her best friend Bree Warren who is the exampler of female beauty. Morgan's 17, nd she's never had a boyfriend, and she feels like she never will. Then this amazingly cute boy named Cal enrolls in her high school, and she can't stop thinking about him. Then she finds out that he and his mother are wiccan. Morgan decides to attend one of Cal's circles and immediately feels a connection to Wicca. Then people keep saying that she is a blood witch, but how can that be? Then both of her parents start freaking out that she's studying wicca. What is it they are hiding from her?
This is one of the best books ever!

Summary: Educational and interesting!
Review: This story starts out with a girl named Morgan, a girl not very high on the social ladder at school. Then she meets this cute guy named Cal. He seems really cool and everything, but he has a secret. He practices Wicca, a type of witchcraft. One night, Morgan decides to partake in the "circle" with Cal. After all, she really wanted him to like her, or just accept her for that matter. But what she doesn't know is how much that night will effect her life. She has a powerful, out of this world experience that will change her forever. She sees things, feels things in a new way. She can do powerful things, magical things that normal people can't do. And it's something she never prepared for. I highly recommend anyone to pick up this book. You get to learn a lot about the Wiccan culture as well as a great story to go along with it.

Summary: Very Engrossing
Review: Morgan, the average teenage wallflower, average looks, no bust and very shy. That is until Cal Blaire shows up, Cal is good looking charming and every girl wants to get close to him. Cal introduces Morgan into a world of wicca and Magick. Morgan's crush on Cal causes a rift between her and her best friend Bree. Will things ever be the same?

A real page turner, definitely worth reading for anyone who's into wicca and the supernatural.

Summary: Great start to a Great Series!
Review: Morgan Rowlands is your average plain girl who has always felt that she has been living in the shadow of her best friend, beauty queen, Bree Warren. But then one day the gorgeous and mysterious Cal Blaire comes to Widow's Vale High. He instantly becomes one of the hottest and most popular guys there. Morgan instantly starts to fall for him as does Bree. One night Cal asks a bunch of people to a "party" which turns out to be a potential circle for the celebration of the Wiccan sabbat Mabon. At the circle something strange happens to Morgan and she starts to become a walking physcic. Slowly Morgan is drawn deeper into the beautiful and magickal world of Wicca but problems soon arrise

1.) She and Bree start to fight over Cal.

2.) Her parents are Catholics who dissaprove of Wicca and forbid her to practice it.

But Morgan is starting to realize that Wicca is choosing her as much as she's choosing it.

A great series! It has likeable and well-developed charecters. It gives an accurate portrayal of Wicca and gives you some good information.

Summary: Talented Author
Review: This book was a great read. I loved the way that Cate Tiernan explained Morgans feelings so well.
This first bok in a series called "Sweep" is about a teenage girl named Morgan. When she starts off her school year she thinks it is going to be regular school year, but little does she know, it won't be. A boy named Cal comes to their school, and just by looking at him, Morgan completely falls for him. She obviously doesnt think he will choose her; there
are plenty of better looking girls out there. So she thinks he is just another crush. She also doesnt know that Wicca exists, and even more, she doesnt know that Cal practices it. So he introduces it to a group of people, including Morgan and some of her friends. As more days go by, Morgan learns more about the beauty of Wicca, and more about the beauty of Cal.
I hope I am not ruining anything, but this is a great read, so just give it a chance.

Summary: Fantastic book!
Review: Cate Tiernan- I don't know how she did it. I am currently starting book 6, Spellbound, and I already feel like I am a true Wiccan. She made me feel as if I was actually Morgan, and I was going through rough times, but discovered something so beautiful, intense, and yet frightening, to help her get on with the day, or sometimes regret it. Sometimes, when I read books, I feel as if the main character (even if they are narrating)is another person, like an enemy. There are times when I get so indulged in a book that I begin to feel jealous or hateful towards another character in the book. But not in Sweep. I feel as if I am Morgan, and sometimes when I go to sleep at night I am the sole descendant of Belwicket! When she goes through a terrifying ride with Cal, I feel her pain. When she gently kisses Hunter, I feel her passion. When she is at a circle, I feel the energy engulf me and take me through a wild ride. Sometimes when I read this book, I can feel the Earth's breath in 'sync with mine. This book is wonderful, and it has taken me many places that have not even existed in my mind.

Summary: Realism and Praise
Review: I was apprenhensive, but read it anyhow. Seeing how some are offended by the work because it isn't "purely" Wicca. But anyone with common sense would realize not all of it is factual. I like how she created the "Blood Witches," which made the story quite amazing. Probably one of few young adult books that I actually enjoy.

Morgan seems to be very self-conscious and I can see why. Most teens are very much like that while going through this era of their life. Especially when you have a best friend who has a beautiful body, but Bree also has her flaws. She has a problem when it comes to guys.

Overall, it puts a positive outlook on the Wicca religion, even if some of the facts are fake. Some people may be picky and may be offended by some of the recreation, but if you want something like that, that's why you read non-fiction. Cate is a wonderful writer and sets a great influence on young girls dealing with peer pressure and teen issues.

Summary: Wow! Awesome!
Review: This is a super book! I picked it up because it had a cool cover and was about magick, which I'm totally into. I started it one afternoon, and actually read it all night long! Now I'm reading Sweep #2, and I only put it down to write this review! These books are about a girl named Morgan who discovers her own magickal talent with the help of Cal, who just moved to her town. This book is so realistic about Morgan and Bree's friendship, and Morgan's feelings and insecurities. And the scenes with magick in them are just beautiful! I read them over and over. I highly recommend this series to anyone, not just people who are into magick!

Summary: !!! URGHHH !!!
Review: I liked the "Sweep Series" enough to keep reading it until the end. It was one of those books that forced you to read the next one, possibly against your will, just for peace of mind. The character Morgan in "Book of Shadows" was okay: she was the kind of person that you could like easily: that was easy going, etc. The magic stuff was really cool and it was obvious that the author either knew someone who was Wiccan or was very well read. The thing that bothered me the most, though, was that it acted like Wicca is just a game played for people's amusement, and that it was just a lot of bull. The impression I got from the book was that the author was just writing about magic, and Wicca seemed very convienent, and appeared to add that little twist that made the story 'come to life'. But the fact is, Wicca is a real religion that is practiced today more commonly than you might think, and I strongly beleive that this book was almost a mockery of this practice.

The writing style was good, though, and I think that Cate Tiernam did a good job portraying the characters' emotions. I congratulate this author, because it is no easy feat to publish even one book (I have a friend who is a writer). Good effort.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Very enjoyable light read
Review: I enjoyed this book very much. The story is enjoyable and the characters engaging. If you look past the fact that there are inaccuracies about Wicca in there (it is actually a new religion based on older religions, not an acient religion itself) you can really get into it.

So far I've read the first four books in the series. It is pretty easy to predict what is going to happen but the writer still makes it worthwhile to continue reading to see if you are right.
