Rating: Summary: The book was very dramatizing. Review: We read this novel for senior English class. It was the concenses of the class that it was very realistic. Many of the members of the class finished the book before the actual assigned time. They were deeply involved in the book. They realized that kids their age actually were on the frontline of the war and it scared them. Many commented that they too would have gone and fought for the same reasons that Perry and PeeWee went to Vietnam. Signed Senior English, Mrs. C's Class
Rating: Summary: I COULDN'T PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!!! Review: This book is great! It clearly explains the carnage and brutality of the Vietnam War and about the life and survival of a young, black soldier. I felt that I was in the war with them in this book. The best Vietnam War novel I've ever read!!
Rating: Summary: Powerful book - feels like you are there with them Review: It's about Perry going to off to war. He struggles with the people around him and the war itself. You get the feel like you're in the war yourself. An excellent book to read.
Rating: Summary: Awesome book! Review: This is one of the best books I've ever read. It takes you out of now and puts you then and there in the body of a US soilder during vietnam. IT really is gut wrenching and makes you sad at that it's over when you finish. I highly reccomend this book!
Rating: Summary: CAN'T PUT THIS BOOK DOWN Review: GOT THIS BOOK FOR MY 14 YEAR OLD SON (SUMMER READING). VERY ATHLETIC BUT HE LIKES TO READ ON DAYS WITH NOTHING TO DO. HE READ "FALLEN ANGELS" AND COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. BASEBALL AND BASKETBALL TOOK A BACKSEAT TO THIS BOOK NOT VICE-VERSA!!! HE WANTS MORE BOOKS LIKE THIS!!! HOORAY!!
Rating: Summary: An extraordinarily powerful book! Review: I am 12 years old. I am not yet finished with "Fallen Angels", but the first 7/8 of this book have given me more to think about than every other book I've read COMBINED! It'll make you cry. It'll make you seethe with anger at the Vietnamese (and the Americans). It'll make you think. A haunting, powerful book. One of the best ever written. If you want to read a masterpiece war story, this should be your first choice. Outstanding.
Rating: Summary: Must read book Review: Fallen Angels explained the life of a soldier during Vietnam, this book described the horror of war. I give this book 5 stars. Walter Dean Myers is my favorite author and a great one at that.
Rating: Summary: Stellar. A must-read for any 18-year-old Review: As one of the greatest books I have ever read, Fallen Angels is breathtaking. The descriptions in this book have made the Vietnam War clear to me--In its carnage and brutality. I have four chapters left and I have never been so affected by a novel in my entire life. I feel as though I have seen the battles of the war firsthand. The descriptions have etched themselves into my mind without traumatizing me to the extent that the brave young men and women who fought the war had been. The scariest part about it is, I am the same age as some of the men in the story--I would never have survived.
Rating: Summary: A great Vietnam War historical fiction book Review: I think this book was one of the best Vietnam War books out. It has great detail among the scenery and the Army of the United States. This book really touched me how the African Americans and Whites all came together during war time.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Work Review: After reading this book I felt that I really read a book it was filled with the feature that an excellent book contains. I am a Student of BMCC and Mr. Myers will be visting our class I am so excited to really meet with him to tell him of him excellent work. His flowers are due to him now that he is alive. Mr. Myer Keep up the good work
