Summary: I WAS Sammie as a teenager...
Review: Summer vacation is approaching, and Sammie and her mom are planning to join Sammie's dad in California at the end of June. Then Sammie's father drops a bombshell on her: her parents are going to get a trial separation. Instead of going to California, Sammie will be relocating with her mother to New York City and leaving her best friend behind. Sammie soon finds that in addition to handling her own feelings of abandonment at the loss of her home and friends, she has to cope with her mom. Her mom is not handling the trial separation well and has become an emotional basket case as she tries to "find herself" by reading self-help books. Sammie is constantly struggling to keep it all together.

I LOVED this book. Even though I am 26 now, I could easily relate to Sammie. The writing was funny at times, and poignant at others. I even ran out and immediately purchase it after the first reading. I am making everyone I know read this book. I cannot rave about it enough. And I can't wait for the author's next novel!

Review: I really loved this book! I made all my friends read it, and I recommend it to anyone, whether you're having a hard time dealing with guys, or adolescence or even if you think you're fine! It made think about a lot of things, and it reassured me that girls think a lot alike! I think it's fun, exciting, insightful, and interesting. I read it in 2 days! I loved it and you would too!!!!!!

Summary: My teens loved it and so did I
Review: My daughter sucked this book up like it was Mountain Dew and then passed it to her sister. I thought I should read it, too. What a help it proved to be for the three of us to begin discussing my own divorce, sexuality and all the feelings--good and bad--that we've had toward each other. We're ready to wait in line for Mackler's next book and we want to see more of Sammi.

Summary: It's Fantastic
Review: This book is so great. It is one of the best that I've read. This may be like Judy Blume but it is way more modernized. Carolyn Mackler is such a beautiful writer and I hope everyone likes it as much as I did. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for Carolyn's next book. Love and other four letter words is a masterpiece and Carolyn is a magnificent writer. No one can compare to this book or Carlyn. I am honered to have such a good young adult writer in this country. This book is real, it makes you want to go to the bookstore.

Review: This is a moving and touching book about a girl dealing with her parents divorce and her mother moving them to New York City. I loved this book and read it in one sitting. It is my new favorite book. I would suggest it to anybody and all my friends have read my copy after me and loved it as well. If you are looking for a REALLY good book, read this one!

Summary: Great book !
Review: I enjoyed reading this book because i felt that i could relate to the main character, sammie. This book doesn't try to trivialize teens' problems or make us look stupid. It's honest and funny, and i think everyone should give it a try, especially if you like other good teen fiction from authors like judy blume and phylis renolds naylor.

Summary: One of the Best YA BOoks I've Read (and I read a LOT)
Review: Her book is great. It's real in a way a lot of books are. If you read the editortial thing, and the other reviews, then you probably already know what it's about. But still. Sammie is a wonderfully ... well... REAL character, and the people she deals with in her book are a lot like people I deal with way out in the boondocks of the Midwest where I live. I think she's an extremely talented writer and I'm sitting on pins (isn't that the FUNNIEST thing to say?) waiting for her next book...
