Summary: A wonderful book
Review: I normally read fantasy, so this was a nice break from that. I can really relate to sammie, almost anyone will find something in common w/ her. It's a very encouraging book, one that you wish everyone would read, yet you want no one to because its your book! It was truly amazing!

Summary: Amazing!
Review: This book was the best book I have ever read! Many teenage girls can relate to this book, inclusding me. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. The author gave a lot of details, and her style of writing really made me feel and understand Sammie Davis's perspective of things. I really enjoyed reading this book because a lot of things going on in Sammie's life were going on in mine. For that reason, I could relate to the book and I think that other people in their teens could relate to the issues discussed, faced, and dealt with in this book. I liked this book because it was also very unpredictable. Sometimes, when you read a book, you can predict exactly what is going to happen on the next page. Not with this book. "Love and Other Four Letter Words," was full of surprises and discoveries, making it a great book to read and understand.

Summary: Great Book.. A Must Read!
Review: Sammie Davis is not your typical teenager- she plays folk music on her dad's old guitar, she feels inferior to her friend Kitty (despite the "Grand Tetons") and her life is about to drastically change.

When her father tells Sammie that he and her mother are having a trial separation this summer, she feels cheated somehow. To add insult to injury, her mother rents out their house to "the Oscar Meyer Weiners" and takes Sammie to New York City for the summer.

What follows are months of misery and disappointment. Her mother falls into an abyss of self-pity when she can't find work in New York, Sammie realizes that maybe Kitty isn't such a great friend after all, plus finds someone who IS a great friend. In between, there's nervous flirting with the Johnny Depp look-a-like from upstairs, baby-sitting and one huge emotional blow-up.

It's predictable and pointless, but you can't deny that it's entertaining.

Summary: Carolyn Mackler Brings an Understanding to Teens
Review: When I was browsing in the library in the young adults section, as I usually do, I came across a book that caught my eye. I pulled it off of the shelf and read the cover. It was rather interesting so I read the the first few pages. Unable to put it down, I immediatly checked it out. It took me two days to complete it as all of my teachers at school began to wonder. I had a lot of questions about some situations I had been in lately and I resorted to this book for answers. Well, that was over a month ago, and LOVE AND OTHER FOUR LETTER WORDS by Carolyn Mackler is one of my favorite books. Carolyn Mackler brought an understanding to me, and I'm a teenager.

Summary: Magnificent
Review: Sixteen-year-old Sammie Davis has never been close to her mother. She's always been what you'd call a "Daddy's Girl". But things are about to change.

Sammie's parents decide to try a trial separation. So, Sammie's father leaves for California, and Sammie and her mother, along with Moxie (Sammie's dog) move to New York City. Where her mother lived before she met her father. Suddenly Sammie's whole life has been flipped upside down. She's now living in a 2 bedroom hole in the wall apartment, and is forced to walk through New York everyday leaving her with blisters. Sammie's only sanctuary away from her mother and her problems is the dog park where she takes Moxie every day, and the friendship with a new girl who knows what kind of dog a person is.

This is a hilarious book, and I think many teens will be able to identify with the main character Sammie. I recommend this book to all fans of "Sloppy Firsts".

Review: This is a great book. I think I read it in like a day, it was that wonderful. You would be dumb not to pick up a book like this one. It is very easy to relate too. You understand what the people are going through. I also love the fact that you could e-mail the author when your done and tell her what you think. Not may authors are like that. I can't wait intil her next book comes out.
