Rating: Summary: Great! Sammie's one of us! Review: This book was so real! The problems, the solutions, the in-betweens-Sammie could have been my next door neighbour. Her problems are almost commonplace with teens and teen novels, but the way she handles them have a life-like spark I've never seen before. I couldn't put it down. Carolyn Mackler definitely deserves a round of applause and I can't wait for her next one!
Rating: Summary: Love is a four letter word Review: Sammie Davis is used to leading a normal life despite her HUGE breasts nicknamed "The Grand Tetons" after those mountains in Wyoming and living in the shadow of her best friend Kitty. Rating: Summary: Extremely great Book for teens Review: I found this book really great in all aspects. Just about anyone can relate to this, even if you aren't going through all of the same changes.
Rating: Summary: Sammie rocks! Review: I really enjoyed this book a lot. It was a mix of laughs and tears. Sammie the girl telling the story is a increadibly smart, uniuqe and strong woman! She is someone girls all over should use as a role model. Her story was fun to hear and it made you think of things that you can easily take for granted or look at the things you need to stand up to even if you're not sure about it.It has the mix of family issues, crushes, friends and the battles that follow that! And of course love. But in her story it shows how when you have love you have other four letter words that come with it. But in the long run you'll find inspiring four letter words. It's a great book! I loved it!
Rating: Summary: Love and Other Four-Letter Words Review: Carolyn really grasps what its like to be a teeanger. Her bluntness is amazing. This book it riveting and helped me deal with problems of my own. Beauty is Truth...
Rating: Summary: Only the BEST book I have ever read!!! Review: I read this book once, and I liked it. Then I read it again, and i Loved it. Then i read it again, and I adored it. Then I read it once more, and now I'm OBSESSED with it. So anyway, as a 14-year old girl i can exactly relate to Sammie and Kitty and Phoebe and Eli!!! The characters are so real, so plausible, so relatable!!!! If you ever are sad and need to cheer up, READ THIS BOOK! It is funny, while touching, and just GREAT! I won't give away the plot- but to all of you who have read the book- THE BEAR MOUNTAIN part IS THE BEST!!!!
Rating: Summary: This was the best book EVER Review: Carolyn Mackler's book, Love and Other Four-letter Words..., was wonderful. This book was perfect for me because the charcaters were more like real people. They weren't just about their looks or who is doing who or anything stupid like that. They acted like real people did. The main character, Sammie, has a personality that is both brutaly honest and wonderfully nice. Eli, a "friend" of Sammie's also possesses a quality that gets you hooked. While reading this book you are constantly wondering what will happen next? I won't ruin the ending, but read this book!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down! Review: I usually read magazines but when I was in the teen section of the library I found Love and Other Four-letter Words. It's a wonderful book because how Samantha thinks, talks, and reacts to those situations in the book is typically how most people would. Because of this book I'm going to read more often and I can't wait until more of Carolyn Mackler's books come out. Thank you for writing this one! P.S. I suggest all you girls get Love and Other Four-letter Words right away and make sure you have a lot of time 'cause you won't want to put it down.
Rating: Summary: It's More Than Just A Teen Romance Review: Love and Other Four Letter Words is a story about love, growth, change, but mostly life. Sammie Davis (the main character) moves with her mother to New York City because her parents are in a trial separation. Sammie is a strong chatacter that many girls--including me--can identify with. She learns about love--the good and bad. Her best friend, Kitty, is "experienced" with a boy who ends up cheating on her. In the beginning, Sammie wishes she could be more like Kitty, but as the novel progresses she and Kitty break apart a lot more. Read this enchanting book to find out the rest!
Rating: Summary: Close To Home Review: This book let me know that i'm not the only person who has to deal with extreme changes in her life-style. The best thing about it was that i could see exactly how Sammie felt during these events. i myself have had to deal with parental separation and being the "shoulder-to-cry-on" for my friends. People, even your own parents, can forget that you might be a little messed up about things to and that you yourself need a break from it all. The best thing this book can do is let teenage girls know that through thick and thin, know that somewhere, some one is dealing with a similar problem. Without the book doing it intentionally, it gives you a notion that teenage girls think things through more then adults realize. Parents ecspecially should read this book if they have a teenage daughter. They might not nag so much as to see what we really think is going on in life. This book shows how we all need explantions otherwise we tend to shut it all out. i loved this book and wish that i could find one similar to it, i can't wait to see what's next from Mackler!
