Rating: Summary: Here comes more Redwall, down the assembly line. Review: By now one can definitely recognize the major elements in a Redwall book: 1: By the middle of the book, at least five different story lines must all be going at once. 2: There are only so many species your villain can belong to. 3: Everyone must talk in a distinctive dialect, rendered phonetically so as to be virtually indecipherable. 4: There must be someone on a quest. 5: There must be a riddle to solve 6: There must be an abundance of songs (do I detect Tolkein envy?) with little to no relevance to the plot. 7: There must be multi-page descriptions of the delights of the Redwall feasts (do I detect C.S. Lewis envy?) which grow a little dull after the first six pages, because there is, after all, only so much you can say about vegetables. 8: Some danger must threaten Redwall. (for a "peaceful Abbey" it's got one heck of an active life) 9: At least one major protagonist must be a female warrior. (must have picked up some flak after the first three books) 10: At least one protagonist must be killed off, although it must never be the main one. 11: It should end with a large gory battle, involving blood, shouting, and creatures dropping on every side, so long as they aren't the protagonists. 12: Rats are almost as easy to kill as stormtroopers, whereas the henchvillain is almost as hard to kill as Darth Vader. 13: The books must end with all 461 of the protagonists, minus the one which got killed, everybody pause for a moment of silence, amen, sitting down to yet another feast.Watch that cholesterol! Tch, tch.
Rating: Summary: WOW! THIS IS AWSOME!!! Review: The pearl of Lutra was the fourth book that I read that was by Brian. It was so good that I gave it five stars. I love every book by Brian Jaqcues and my new year resolution is to read more novels of Redwall by Brian. See Ya! :)
Rating: Summary: 5 stars as always! Review: Dear Mr. Jacques, You -in my opnion- have written the best books that have ever been written! This one Pearls of Lutra is really fantastic! All the tricky riddles and fun carachters like Craklyn Squirrel, the Dibbuns and especially Clecky the hare mixed with the intricate plot and clever schemes make this book worthy of its series Redwall, the best series ever written.
Rating: Summary: Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: It is the best book I have ever read, I think Brian Jacques is the best auther, and this is definitly one of the best he has ever written. IT is about the quest for the six Tears ofthe Oceans, they are rosy pink pearls. Four friends, Tansy, Cranklin, Piknim and Rollo, are determined to fined them they have to follow clues layed out by Fermald the antient to find the six pearls. But they are not the only ones there is also Madeyes the evil emperer. And, and............ well I guess I'll leave that for you to figure out when, or if you read this awesome book, and I garrentee if you like adventure as much as I do you'll love it and find it very hard to put down.
Rating: Summary: Great Review: This one is not very good at the start but after book 1 it gets awsome. The end fight is cool, but it ended the same as The Marial of Redwalll: the bad guy gets bit by it's pet snake or scorpian, overall a good read.
Rating: Summary: Never have I read such a good book since The Bellmaker! Review: Martin the Warrior II, Clecky the hare, Welko and Plogg the shrews, Grath Longfletch the otterwife and Viola Bankvole set off to rescue the kidnapped Abbot Durral of Redwall. Across the seas at the ocean paradise of Sampetra, Ublaz Mad Eyes the evil pine marten is doing battle with Rasconza, and equally sly and crafty fox corsair. Back at Redwall, Tansy a hedgehogmaid is looking for the six Pearls of Lutra, what Ublaz wants, what Grath rightfully owns and what will cause pain and suffering for almost anybeast that claims the pearls (Grath's family died, a certain friend of Tansy's dies and let's not talk about what happens to Ublaz).
Rating: Summary: Good but not Great Review: I have read all the Redwall books except for the newest one, Marlfox, and have loved them all. This one was satisfactory, like all the others, but I just didn't think it was as good as the others. It was missing something that all the other books had, but I can't tell what. The charactors were very shallow. I think every true Redwall veteran should notice this. Also, I didn't like the Martin 2 idea very much, the name should be just for the first one. In case you think I have been to harsh in this review, just remember I think it is good, just not the best.
Rating: Summary: another great one Review: I have injoyed almost all of the redwall series. They all chant you and send you deep into a land of mice and moles. This one like Redwall had puzzles. One word of advice, before you read any of the books read Martin the Warrior then Redwall.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely stunning book! None like it! Review: The Redwall star! What a book. I have read all the books but this book passes all. The story opens with the young capable hedgehog maid, Tansy, who takes the little dibbun squirrel named Arven out into the Mossflower woods for a nice picnic. A storm overtakes them just whenthe woods are their best and brightest. The disappointed duo run to the shelter of a small cave. A great book, full of good mice, moles, squirrels, otters, hedgehogs, and hares. Also many sinister animals and above all the leader, a sleek evil cunning pine martin named Mad Eyes. He is served by rats and flesh eating lizards. If you have not read this book, read it. If you have read it, read it again. Thank you Mr. Jacques for this masterpiece.
Rating: Summary: Adventurous!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: This is the best book I"ve ever read!!!!!!! It really makes you feel like you're inside it. I have read most of you're series and I loved all of them!
