Summary: A must-have.
Review: I got this book 3 years ago (I'm 18 now). This book is very throughly covered on ALL subjects, and it answered all my questions & had helped me feel better when I was bit depressed w/ peer pressure and etc.
As some people are concerned, there is sex stuff on the book but it is just enough information to fulfill curiocity. This book doesn't suggest, at least in my opinion, it just informs. Your daughter will eventually get married some day, and who determines when is the right time to learn about it? Anyway, It becomes no big deal when you all know about it, you just lose all myths you had about it. So it's whether you make your daughter dream about it, or lose interest on it by letting her know everything.

Summary: educational--i tell you
Review: I think this book is INCREDIBLE!!! I bought it for my 19 year old daughter for her "period" party. I was so proud, she had finaly become a woman. I think all gurls should read this book, because it teaches valuable lesson. It also teaches young girls how to "take control of their own domain." (If you know what I mean) Also, it teaches subserviance to males, which I have always thought highly of. So, in conclusion, I give this book 3 thumbs up. I hope you find this review helpful.

Summary: A Little Info For The Adults...
Review: I was reading your reviews on this book-yes I read all of them-and I've noticed that we have plenty of adults thinking that this is a little to much for teens. Well, it is to those adults that I say, grow up. You're 15 year olds are now at the average sexually active age-they need to know this. And your 10-17 year olds, we live in a society where kindergarteners are out having sex. I don't expect you believe that..but its true. Kids today need information..or else. Most of you think that your kids would never have sex and truthfully, you can think that all day. The truth is that kids are people with personal lives that you don't know about. And I know that I would rather have them informed then sorry or dead on the street. Most of this content is known to kids as young as ten. For example, if your ten-year-old goes to public school, I will almost garuntee that she knows what a ... is. Maybe you're nine-year old is out bragging to her friends about letting her boyfriend feel her up...you don't know. But believe me, people, kids today know. And this book is the perfect way to warn them. It is very informative...it does teach things about sex...but wouldn't you rather them learn it in detail from a book instead of on the street? If your kid attends school, they are exposed to this language, and even the information. So overall, let them read this. Let them know you care enough to tell them. The world isn't all candy coated. Your teenagers already know...or are experienced. Whats wrong with giving them a little bit of truth? I highly recomend you at least look at this with your teenager, but don't deny them this. You generation was different from theirs...and the most this book can do is help be a guide for how to survive TODAY...parents...you were YESTERDAY...then was then...and things have changed. Now is now.

Summary: What is the big deal parents?
Review: ...I (now 18) would have LOVED to have a book like this when I was 10 or 12 because my parents never gave me the "Sex Talk". This book is very informative and highly recommended.

P.S. Parents if you believe this book is too graphic in parts, cut out those pages in the book or just save the book for later use.

Summary: Very...Detailed.
Review: DEAL WITH IT! is a good book. It deals, basically, with anything and everything. And I mean everything.

For instance: It deals with drugs. It describes what each one does to your body. It deals with family, getting along with your parents and learning to love your siblings. Also, it deals with school. It even deals with HOMESCHOOL. That was something I did not expect. It is a very encouraging book that says that girls do have a power in their environment, that they can deal with these problems and grow into lovely, mature women without being confused in many situations.

Now here's the big one. It deals with sex. Yes, there are pictures. Yes, there are slang words. The slang words are there because most teenagers don't use medical or professional terms for body parts. I was surprised at seeing some things in there, but girls are curious. Girls don't know everything. Just because they are reading this book doesn't mean they are going to go have sex with the next boy they see. The book itself encourages girls to think for themselves, to respect themselves, which would mean not sleeping around. And if you know your daughter, she probably would have more respect for herself than to do something so drastic.

And for the parents who say that there should be some sort of disclaimer, look at the lower left-hand corner of the cover. In yellow print, it reads "Contains Mature Content".

Do what is best for your child. I bought this book on my own, and my parents were a bit surprised at what they found in it. BUT they trust me. If you don't trust your child, then that is something YOU need to work on.

Summary: a must have
Review: this is a very creditable piece of work, everyone, but mostly girls, should own this book. i was very impressed. Parents should go to the extremes to fetch this book for their kids. It covers all the topics we/they all want to know about... but were afraid to ask. It doesnt go into so much detail that it makes you sick. But it is really helpful in preparing the kids and seperating the facts. BOOK: It has a really nice lay out; very easy to read; goes over such things as the brain (things like how to know if you're depressed and what to do about it), the soul (as in friendships and love relationships, what to do if you are in an abusive relationship), Drugs (advice for getting off drugs, lists all the different types of drugs and side effects) of corse the most useful part was the sex part (as in what to do if you get raped or masturbation techinicalities {NOT TO FEEL ASHAMED< ETC}). So very much more. I've only chipped at an incredibly large iceberg. Again, I cant stress enough how much kids need to know this stuff; they want it too. It's been so useful as both a resource and a source of information.

Summary: get it here or get it somewhere else
Review: I would just like to say that this book is informitive and answered all my questions. Other books don't talk about religion and stuff like that like this book. and all the parents who are like " Oh my God this book has ...[a bad word in it]!!!" need to take a chill pill. Speaking as a 13 year old girl, we've heard it befor and we'll here it again. Now you can either try to protect us by not talking to us about it and letting us get it of the streets and get wrong info: or you can give us this book that answers our questions and talk to us about it. We're going get this stuff anyways. We might as well get it from our parents.

Summary: This wonderful book
Review: Hi, I'm 12 years old and i have read this book cover to cover and i think this is a wonderful book. I have had so many questions before this book, it answered all of my questions. My mom is a nurse, and she always says "if u have any questions just ask" no 12,13,or 14 ect. is going to ask there mom or dad about our questions. It is so embarrasing to ask questions to parents. This book gives you all of the answers and straight talk with out the embarasment. I give this book 5 stars because it is a wonderful book filled with quesitons and answers that we want to now about.

Review: Finally!! A book made for real girls!!!
I'm 13 and I have to say, I'm so happy I read this book at an early age. It introduced me to a whole new world!! This book features snippets of teenagers of all different ages all relating to a certain topic in a section, like dating or keeping healthy, etc. and suggestions and what worked for them. It's great to feel that sometimes you're not the only person that feels a certain way about something. I read this book in one day...it's pretty long but its interesting and its a fun way to get educated from a different perspective than the way you do in school, if you know what I mean. I would definitely reccommend this book to ANYONE!! It's like a mini-bible, it features so many things, it's great!

Summary: In tune with today's teens
Review: Perhaps I am out of context for saying this, having just turned eighteen myself, but those who rant about how horrid this book is need to take a step back and reflect: as it is true of every year that passes, each new generation of teens is faced with pressures, traumas and in general, issues of today. Well written with the reader in mind, this book is an excellent source of up-to-date resources and facts. This book is not just another "oh I'm growing up, let's take sex ed" book, but deals with other facts of life, like eating disorders and suicide, drugs, friends and family. Being a teen with close friends affected by things like anorexia, bulimia, and depression, I am very appreciative of a book that will bring reality to life for young women.
