Review: The novel Parrot in the Oven was a great book. I like the way Victor told his life story in one novel. He had showed a great deal of affection in this book. The novel was sad but yet true. The only thing that I didn't like about the book was the fact that it was to short. What I learnd from this book is that it was hard it grow up in a home with a family that really doesn't love you. I think everybody should read this book because it talks about a simple fourteen-year-old boy that wants to grow up to be a well respected vato.

The book was alright but I like books that I can't wait to see whats going to happend next.I learned that alcohol is not good for a family bcause it can break up a happy family.But the story's character's seem like every day people.And had every day life situation's Like when Nardo couldn't a job or when his mom and dad fought.But if i would recamend this book to some one Iwould tell my cousin because she like books like this one.

Review: The Parrot in the Oven is a good book. I liked it because it was exciting,surpising, and funny. It's one thing I didn't like about the book. When Manny joined that gang then he realized that he should be at home and not on the streets. Then one thing I learned from the book, you put your family first before anything esle. I think that teens that have an alcholic in the family and if their father is real abusive should read this book. This book reminds me of me when I was younger. My dad dranked alot and he would hit on my mother. So I joined a gang at the age of ten and used to get in trouble alot. Until we moved away from him and he got locked up. So if your dad drinks and is abusive I think you should read the book.

Review: Parrot In The Oven is the best book I ever read. I have never enjoy reading, but this book is diffrent than others. This book makes you feel what the author is talking about. I like how Manny at his age is a responsible boy. A good thing about this story is how it talks about what Magda suffered. How it can make girls think before they do stuff. I like how Mrs. Hernandez would talk to Magda and give her advises; that reminds me of my mom. What I didn't like about the book is how Mr. hernandez would treat his family. How he would just consider them pennis. I have learned that I should be thankful for the family I have because my dad works and he gives us love just like my mom. Teenage girls and violent dads should read this book because they can learn how to be a better person in this world and try not to make mistakes.

Review: I liked a plethora of things like ,the way it is happening in the ghetto.I also like the way it is relating to the real life.I also like the way they are not stereotyping the ghetto. On the other hand I disliked the way Mr.Hernandez was prejudiced against another person.I learned to always stick with your family.I think that all kids should read it.

Review: I think that the book was very good but I would only give it three stars because there were somethings in book I didn't understand. Somethings that I like about the book would be that it touched alot things that kids go through trying to please their parents and how Manny would try and be the one child or person in the house who was sane compared to the other. Another thing I liked about the book was that it only takes the chance for you to get slapped in the face to realize where you belong. What I mean by that is at the end when Manny was thinking about joining the gang and he realized that it wasn't for him, and that he should be at home taking care of his family. There were some things that I didn't like about the book I think that the characters could have been more detailed inthe story. One thing I learned from the story was that your family may have alot of issues, but they are the most important thing to you. People who really don't know about family and their values should read this book.

Review: It was a o-right story but at first I really wasn't going to read it but I decided go ahead and give it a try. It became interesting at the spare of the moment. I believe that the students that wrote their incorrectly written reviews were stupid because the story really did have a meaning to it. I like the cursing, the behavior of the alcoholic dad, and the different situtations that occured during the process of the story. I believe teens that are my age and even older should read this novel due to the excitement that I felt during my reading experiences. I didn't like the way that the father treated his family because he was stupid, arrogant, and a very abusive man. Next time any of you reviewers has your stupid comments about Parrot in the Oven then please make sure you spell your words correctly. You guys are making yourselves look like complete idiots cause you are puttin up a arguement but you cant spell...

Although victor dipicted the life of a California slum very well he had yet to make a true meaning opf the story. Another thing that Victor also dipicted was a drunkin' out of work abusive father. Review: I think this book is perfect for kids our age to read because we all can relate to him in some way. Most kids have seen their dad drunk, a family member having a baby, or have had problems with girls or boys. Victor did a great job in describing the life of a young boy during a tough time in his life. This is a good book for every young boy or girl to read.
