Rating: Summary: incredibly emotional Review: I loved this book, and I read it in one day. As soon as I got it I couldn't put it down. It shows how hard the holocaust was. If you liked this book than I recommend the book I Have Lived A Thousand Years, by Livia Bitton-Jackson
Rating: Summary: Great, very descriptive, emotional book. Review: I thought this book told how it was like to be in the Holocaust very well. When Riva lost her mom it was so heartbreaking. This is a must read book. I can't think of how to put it into words, it's that great.
Rating: Summary: EXCITING!!! Review: this book was about a girl who lives in the lodz ghetto. in 1942, her mother was taken away, and she was left a mother of her three brothers. when the remaining family hears that the concentration camps will give them food if they work, the girl and her brothers surrender to the germans and are shipped off in cattle cars to Auchwitz not knowing the danger that awaits them. when they get to the concentration camps, she and her brothers are separated. now, the girl(riva) is alone and can only hope that she will live. I gave this book 4 stars because it was really exciting but riva never gets mad at her brothers and she always said stuff like my dear brothers or my darling brothers which isn't very realistic but other than that, it was a fantastic story!
Rating: Summary: LOVE IT! Review: I really, really loved this book! it was amazing! I have read it soo many times that the cover- well, you can't tell what it is supposed to look like! I would rate this book more than a 5 star... I would rate it seriously, about 100 star, that is how much I love the book.
Rating: Summary: It Is A Great Book!!! Review: Ruth Sender knows how to write a great book! And this was a great example. She was extremely discriptive. I really enjoyed reading this book.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I've ever read! Review: This was one of the best books I've ever read! i coldn't put it down. Ruth Minsky Sender paints a vivid picture of the horrors of the holcaust. I t makes you realize what those poor people went through. A must read!
Rating: Summary: The best book I have ever read, but I don't read that much!! Review: It was a very good book and it was not boring! It gave me a real understanding about what it was like to not only live during but to also survive the Holocaust. I recommend this book to anybody who likes historical books and especially this period of history.
Rating: Summary: The most intense book you'll ever read Review: I had to stop reading it on the train ride home because I didn't want to cry in public. This is a very gripping story. I felt so overwhelmed by the courage she had to go on and stood strong for herself as well as for others even when all she loved was taken away. a must read book!!
Rating: Summary: Read this book NOW!!! MR Review: Not a ten, but 10++ . Great autobiography of a girl from Lodz, Poland. Read about how the cruel Nazis destroyed Riva's family. When you read this book, it feels like you are in the story, being Riva. Exciting & Breathtaking events through out the book. This was Ruth (Riva) Minsky Sender's first book, and it was great !!! Never minding the great description af the charecters and the polish-translation of the diologe.
Rating: Summary: A great book Review: This is the best book I've ever read. it made me cry a lot. I hope many people will read this book and realize that there ar more then 6 million stories just like this on.
