Summary: An emotional survival story with a deep meaning
Review: This story takes place during WWII in the midst of the Holocaust. Riva, 13, and her family live in Poland and the Nazis have come and invaded their town, their lives, and scarred them forever. She is one of the few lucky survivors that went through far too much in labor camps that is able to tell her story. This book is very descriptive with a deep meaning and I recommend this book to everyone. Read this book to hear the full story on what went on in labor camps and a Jewish girl's life during the Holocaust.

Summary: THE CAGE
Review: I really liked this book because it is one of the most desrciptive and vivid books on the holocaust that I have yet read. Its main character goes through so much pain and suffering, but still remains a symbol of hope and faith for those around her. Her courage gets them through the hard time of war, and even if they are down, she will still stand. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read that will touch the deepest parts of your heart.

Summary: The Cage's best review (from the point of a lil' kid)
Review: The Cage by Ruth Minsky Sender is an emotional rollorcoaster that will make U feel like your actually there. The Detail Ruth writes with is amzing. The only book that I could visualize in my mind better than this one was The Giver. When Jonas was reciving the memories it was as though i was right next to him seeing inside his mind. If u read the book the cage i GUARANTEE that at some point in this story you will forget that the tragic holocaust was not happening right now. I gave the book 5 stars because of the detail that Ruth wrote wit hand I find it had to belive that you will not have the same opinions as me

Summary: RECMMENDATION
Review: The Cage was an excellent book. I read it for a 7th grade reprot and i enjoyed it alot. Don't read the back of the book and say I don't like it cuz the back gives a pretty closed windowed version of what the story is really about.

Summary: It is an excellent story about life during the Holocaust.
Review: This was a wonderful book and I couldn't wait to finish it. This book would be enjoyed by any one over twelve, despite its sad theme. Being Jewish myself, it makes me feel very sad when I read about such terrible acts of hatred. Anti-semitism is a disease brought about by a lack of understanding and hatred. People should respect others even if they have differences in cultural and traditional backgrounds. Despite the terrible conditions, it was amazing to me to read the chapters in the book and get a feeling, despite all their suffering, that there was a sense of dignity and hope that they wanted to keep alive. The Jews were truly brave in their fight for life. I was so impressed by how brave Riva was and how hard it must have been for her to be thrown into adulthood with such added responsibilities. I can't imagine dealing with the loss of my mother and having a sick brother. Ruth Sender makes you feel as if you are going through all these experiences with her, She makes you feel her courage and strength. This book made me feel thankful for my family and for every day of my life! In my opinion, this book should be required reading for middle school. Soon, there will be no one alive who are survivors of Nazi brutality. Because of this, it becomes even more important to remember how cruelty, discrimination, and hatred lead to destruction and death. It is so important to confront the most shameful period in human history.

Summary: I really enjoyed reading this book.
Review: I really like this book. It told in detail about the horrible flashbacks of a Holocaust survivor. It told about the terrible hardships she had to endure. It is about a girl named Riva who is taken away from her home in the Lodz ghetto and seperated from her family while she is being deported to Auchowitz. The only thing that I didn't like about this book was the language could have been more complex. I thought she could have used a larger vocabulary. Other wise I thought it was a tragic realistic story that really touched my heart.

Summary: Powerful
Review: I am a grade 10 student who is 15 years old. When i read this book I found The begining hard to get into but after the first couple of chapters I couldn't put it down. This book made me think that every single statistic should have there story told. Although I was forced to read this book for school I has given me more of an interest in the holocaust. I recomend this book to anyone interested in WW2.
