Summary: Quite depressing
Review: I am a 20 year old reader. This book is depressing, but I enjoyed it a lot.

I have already had tears more times than I can count from this book and had to put it down on occasion. But since I was so caught up in it, I picked it up within minutes and just kept on going. I read it in 2 days.

It is almost like a mild horror book if you start undertand how hard the way of life must have been for them. Understanding what life was REALLY like back then.

This book is very good at helping you do just that. I am actually impressed. Make no mistake, if you seek classic literature of the Holocaust, check this title out. Very intense, and touching. Extremely emotional. Wow.

Review: I was at a school bookfair, and I saw this book. I had to wonder why the book got its name (to find out later) My mom got it for me, and after I got home...It went on my desk. A week or so later I decided to read it. when I opend it up, it was happy, until riva's mom got sent away to a regulation camp. 5 or so years later Riva and her brothers went to a regulation camp as well. After from moving from camp to camp, Riva had been seperated from her entire family. Suddenly, Riva got Blood poisoning, will they have to amputate her arm? Read this exiting story, to find out!

Summary: The Cage
Review: I really liked this book. Although it took place during World WarII,it was a good book. It was told from the point of view of a young girl so, it made it easy to relate to. She never had the chance to be a child. Her mother was taken from her a her three younger brothers. She had to be the mother to them. She had to deal with the many responsibilities of an adult at a very young age. One of her brothers contracted Tuberculosis and died. they didn't lose hope. They tried very hard to stay together and not get sent away to the concentration camps, but they got tired of hiding and decided to give themselves up. Her and her brothers were seperated and sent to defferent labor camps. She never gave up hope that one day she might find her mother and two brothers. Another reason why I really like this book is because she never lost hope. Although she went through many trials and tribulations, she kept her spirits high. It's a life lesson, teaching us that we should never give up even in the worst of times.

Summary: GREAT BOOK!
Review: "The Cage" written by Ruth Minsky Sender, was,I thought a very good book. It is about a girl who get seperated from her mother and father in the Holocaust. After she lost them she had to learn the responsibilities of a mother to take care of her younger brothers. The book really describes the living conditions and the things that they had to worry about while living in this ghetto. We dont have to worry about the food supply in our town soon running out. We dont have to worry about Nazi soliders coming and invading our homes looking for certain people of a certain religion. But these are only few of many things these people had to worry about. This girl, Riva, eventually gets split apart from her brothers and is to concentration camps. The camps that these people were sent to were too horrible to decribe. They could be described as a place of hell. If you take the time to read " The Cage" I know this book will keep you on the edge of your seat!

Summary: one of the best novels I ever read!
Review: ...As I read the back cover I instanly got into this book. I like it that the author is telling this as if it was happening right now. You can really tell that this event in our history really changed Riva. I love it that as you get into the book more that she tells the story when theie in theghetto, and how she feels in the consentration camps. I also love how she tells how she acutally feels when she is sick and how she figures out different problems with the different soldiers and the commandment and how she finds out that she may acually be human. All in all this is one of the best books out there about the holocaust. Deffinently read this book!!!

Summary: A Heart Wrenching Story
Review: Ruth Minsky Sender writes a spine tingling story of her life as a Jewish girl in the Holocaust. It kept me turning page after page, and made me feel as if I was really there.
As a young girl, she, her mother and siblings are put into a ghetto. Her mother is then taken away during a round up, and she must care for her brothers. After a little time, they too are taken to a concentration camp, in search of theire mother, but when they arrive, she is seperated from her brothers, not knowing if she will ever see them again. Her tale is heart wrenching, and is my favorite book. If you enjoy reading a great novel, like reading about the Holocaust, or simply love the pleasures of a page turning book, The Cage and its sequel To Life are just for you.

Summary: Somethings Missing?
Review: I read The Cage, It was a very good book. It was about a young girl named Riva and her family. And their struggle in life together, because of the Nazis. They were separated and sent to concentration camps. But their love for each other kept them alive and together. And in the end it makes you feel both sad and happy.
I recommend this book only if you have not read other Holocaust books. It had its ups and downs. But it was not what I expected. It's about the Holocaust and it was like other books, but one thing was missing. The author made it seem that the Holocaust was not that bad. She described what was going on in her life, but didn't give much detail about things around her, or what other people were doing, thinking, or saying. She also didn't tell us what the Nazis were doing to the Jews. She was just in her world and wouldn't let us visualize what was going beyond. For whatever reason, she did not describe her surroundings.
