Rating: Summary: This book was very intense. Review: The book was very satisfying to read. I thought that it was intense. Just knowing that he had to go in front of an all white jury made me think what would I do if I was in his shoes. I'm glad that its not that way any more, because if it was than a lot of people would understand how the people in the book feel.
Rating: Summary: I thought that this book was very exciting Review: This book was well writen and exciting. I enjoyed reading ever line of it. I love how the story was told through a little girls point of view. Her naive view point made it easier to understand the difficulties of being a slave in the south. It must have been a confusing way to learn things by being scolded by drinking from a water fountain that is for white people only. I thought that this depicted slavery very well, I recomend this book to all readers.
Rating: Summary: It kept me on the edge of my seat. Review: This book touched me inside. I had read ROLL OF THUNDER HEAR MY CRY before this, and I would have to say this was better as a sequel. I didn't live through the time of racism, but reading this book made me feel like I did! The way it described how bad the Logan family was living because of the racism going on, I felt like I was living through it. But then again, there were some parts that weren't very believable, and that's why I rated it the way that I did. The thing that I probably liked most about this book, is that how close the Logan family was. From me to you, this is a MUST READ BOOK!
Rating: Summary: A wonderful story of how a family makesit in hard times. Review: This was an entertaining story of how one family in a world of Racism and Hard times and low pay struggles to keep their family and community togeather.Cassies great strength,Stacy's determination, and the playfulness of Christopher John and little Man made the story overpowering. This is a wonderful story from begining to end. It has everything you would expect from a great novel.
Rating: Summary: A great story of racism Review: This was a facinating book of a family trying to survive the goverments taxes.A rocky starting but once you get starded you cant stop espesially when stacey and Moe leave to work for their family so they can get by.It makes you feel for the Loggan family. This is a book you can tell the writer spent time for each page.
Rating: Summary: Another Great Book of the series Review: This book was even better than the first one. It kept you going. You wanted to know what happened to Stacey and Moe. Where did they go? Are they alive? All answered in this book. Just don't stop here read the next book.(The Road to Memphis). It is just as good.
Rating: Summary: Let The Circles Be Unbroken is a story of racism . Review: The logans family are lucky, they own their own land, unlike most African Americans who are share croppers. They also have friends (black) that want to have the same rights as the whites. When Stacey and Moe run away to work at the cane feilds the whole town is worried. This is a story of racism, rights for all humens, and one famil- The Logons
Rating: Summary: The book was very good. Review: This book showed alot of characte
Rating: Summary: I personally didn't like it Review: I read this book with my classmates, and I didnt want to finish it because I thought it was so boring. Fortunely, I did and knew what happened in the end. Read other book instead. This is just my opinion, don't take it personally.
Rating: Summary: Wow! Review: I am a big fan of Mildred Taylor's books, but I have to say that I was disappointed of how she handled the interracial situations in this novel. It seemed like she was pointing her own personal (and very negative)opinion in how she developed the cousin Suzella as well as the character Jacey who was pregnant by a white person. I know it was 1935, but there seems to be this negative pattern for mixed people that they are mixed up and confused their whole lives and thats NOT TRUE. I understand the dislike of whites by the blacks because of the unfair and cruel way that the black characters were treated. BUT the union between Cassie's Uncle Bud and his wife didn't have to end in divorce! Mrs. Taylor could have used this unique opportunity to tell the world, despite differences in color, interracial ralationships can and do survive just like all other relationships. I felt she coped out and didnt even give them a chance, and I guess I really decided to give the book only 3 stars when Stacey told his brother, "You can't love nobody white, so don't even try it." That line brought tears to my eyes because I love my boyfriend very much and he's white. We are getting married Ms. Taylor...you were wrong.
