Summary: Breathing Underwater turns out breath taking.
Review: Set in Key Biscayne Bay, Alex Flinn's novel Breathing Underwater is a story of a teenage life before and after an incident with his girlfriend.

Nick (who's life the story is about) is a normal teenage kid. But he has problems he doesn't know about or even think he has. Now Nick has to face challenges between angermangement classes and his best friend.

Throughout the book Nick has to go to anger management classes in which he has to keep a journal. The journal contains what his life before and after with his girlfriend Caitlin is about. Though Nick has problems that he doesn't think he has, he starts to realize where he got his problems from in the first place. It seems to be that his dad is the main source of the situation because Nick as a child was beat on by him and still at age 16 he is. Now Nick starts to face the challenges throughout the book even when he has to look in his fathers eyes.

This book shows how teenage lives are influenced by their own parents but wont accept the fact that they are. The book shows how some serious problems can be overcomed, it just takes hard work and much forgiveness. Overall, I would recomend this book to readers that enjoy long periods of time because once you start it you won't be able to put it down.

Summary: A Book You Will Become Addicted To
Review: This is the best book I have ever read. Reading about the characters made me so desperately want to hang out with them. Also I think the boy on the cover is so cute!
It's about like, the school stud, who slaps his girlfriend, who was a fat girl turned skinny. He gets her popular, and then once he slaps her, all his friends turn against him and stick with his girlfriend. This is a story about a boy trying to get his girl back.

Summary: Facing his problems
Review: Nick faces problems at home, he ends up taking it out on his girlfriend, Catilin. Nick's dad hits him and calls him names. Since that is basically all his father taught him, he uses it on Catilin. He doesn't even notice that he is hurting her until it is already over. After it is all over, then he wishes he could take it all back. Catilin knows about his problems at home, but when Nick goes to far and hits her, now there's a new problem. Catilin tries to ignore it the first time, but when it happens a second time, she can't take it anymore. Nick ends up losing his girlfriend and all of his friends. The book tells how he deals with his problems and how he tries to get his life back. I liked the book because it made me want to keep reading. I always wanted to know what was going to happen next. It made me think about how I treat people. Also, the way that I see other people treating each other. Everyone has feelings that can be hurt. I think this is a good read for anyone.

Summary: Breathing Under Water
Review: In the novel Breathing Under Water, 16-year-old Nick lives a rich lifestyle in upper class Key Biscayne in south Florida. He has a kind girlfriend Caitlin in which he is verbally abusive to and eventually hits her. Caitlin and her mother press charges against Nick and he is sentenced to attend an anger management class.
The novel was very appealing to me because I am able to relate to the characters because I am also in high school. The authors writing style captured my attention on Nick and his angry outbreaks towards Caitlin.
Anyone that is a teenager or young adult, even if they are not a fan of reading, will defiantly enjoy Breathing Under Water. Even adults that enjoy remembering their high school days will love this book.
