Rating: Summary: Best Redwall book ever! Review: The best Redwall book I've ever read! With Abbess Tansy from Pearls of Lutra and Arven the miggity maggot as Redwall warrior. It had adventure with the hares of the Long Patrol and the first Badger Lady.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining Review: It is a refreshing book, full of new tricks and wacky turns.
Rating: Summary: As beautifully written as the rest of the series! Review: The Long Patrol is fascinating! It has completely detailed everything and is just wonderful! You will definately love this and the whole series , no matter what kind of genre you prefer. It has everything from grueling battles to blooming romances between young hares. I say two thumbs up! No, wait, four thumbs up ( You can't give these books enough thumbs to explain)!
Rating: Summary: Totally disappointing Review: The first eight Redwall books were all equally good -- there was never a decline; all of them explored something new and were exciting, well-written. But then this book came -- the pits.Brian Jacques has hit an unprecedented low! Most of the writing is a shameful copy of his former work. The villians are neither new nor interesting. The battles, the plot, the conversations between the Redwallers, all are as stale as the South Wall. Remember -- all of the previous 8 books were terrific. Brian Jacques is a terrific writer, but here he has simply blown it.
Rating: Summary: Jacques has done it again! -***** Review: Another great book from the Redwall collection! I can't hardly wait for the book Marlfox to come out in America!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic! Review: Great book. Though I have never heard of a female badger lord. I found a lot of action in this 358 page book. Eeuullaaaliiiaa!
Rating: Summary: Another Winner by Brian!!!! Review: The Long Patrol is another winner from Mr. Jacques (likes he's ever had a loser!). Like many others the Hares have been my favorite species in the Redwall books. Brian's old day of stand up comedy is relived through the Hares. So imagine how thrilled I was to hear that this book was all about them. If you haven't read any of the books in the Redwall series, I would point you towards the first book Redwall but The Long Patrol would be a nice start also. On a side note I had the opportunity to meet Brian Jacques during his recent US tour and all I can say is that he is as wonderful in person as he is in print. If your looking for a book to get your children excited about reading try a Brian Jacques book. REDWALLLLLLL!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Great! Review: I enjoyed this book alot. It did not exactly follow the Redwall format like the other books but it was still really good. I have always wanted to know more about the Long Patrol and this book tells me all I want to know! Read It!
Rating: Summary: It's a fabulous book that is a good and exciting read. Review: The Long Patrol is an exciting book that has many elements that other Jacques books don't have. Even though it wasn't my favorite of the Redwall books, it was very interesting and often times hilarious! I love books that make me laugh out loud and this one sure did. the one thing i didn't like, was that Russa Nodrey didn't stay in the book long enough for you to be sad when she died. If she had stayed longer it would have been a better effect when she died. but that was the only thing that i really didn't like, everything else about the book was fabulous! I gave it a 10 for a good reason.I was happy that this book had a lot of Hares in it, the characters were remarkable and unforgettable. Overall, this book was one of the best and i love it! i want to loan it to everyone i know.
Rating: Summary: Not the best of the Redwall series, but still a good book Review: This book ranks low on my Redwall scale, because it lacked certain elements that the Redwall reader has come to expect. The final battle is not described in great detail, and the ultimate battle between Cregga Rose Eyes and Damug Warfang wasn't described at all, which is a disappointment to the reader. Cregga Rose Eyes was a weak character, an effect that was magnified by the fact that she was a badger. In the previous Redwall books, badgers had a certain sense of omniscience, whereas Cregga was all to 'human.' Nonetheless, I was satisfied when I finished THE LONG PATROL. It's a good read with interesting characters and a plot that kept me riveted. Give THE LONG PATROL a going-over and you'll see what I mean.
