Rating: Summary: i really liked the book Review: I thought the book was an outstanding book and a great adventure. The book was my favorite out of all the books i have read. To me this book is one of the most realistic and with the best story ending. I really thought that Tammo de Formello Tussock or, Tammo was the most realistic character and the bloodshed on the battlefield and Lady Cregga Rose eyes was so realistic that for a second i thought that she was real along with all the ather like rockjaw and pasque, or my favorite Tammo. so if this seems a little long for my idea of the book The Long Patrol it is because there is alot to say abuot the book itself. And i have read the bok along with al the others axcept for a few and this will always be my favorite i think although he is still working on another chapter in the Redwall Saga i think that this will always be my favorite. your friend, Josh Cleek

Rating: Summary: A great, well written, book from the mind of Brian Jacques. Review: The Long Patrol, in the tradition of the Redwall series, is a wonderful, well-written book. Brian Jacques fully creates the world of Redwall. Tammo is a young hare, eager to join the Long Patrol. He runs away from home with his friend and companion, Russa Nodrey. Meanwhile, Redwall is having its own problems. The South wall is sinking, and the Redwallers are trying to figure out why. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone. But in my opinion, it would be better to read Redwall and a few other books in the series first. -SK3
Rating: Summary: This is an all-around great book, filled with imagination. Review: This is a definite must-buy for readers. I wouldn't recommend it to people who have never read a Redwall book before, because you need to know a bit about Redwall before you read it. But, if you want to read a funny, clever, detailed, action-packed book, not to mention hungering( the Redwallers make good food), then I suggest this. It makes you feel that you're there. And, unlike some books, it's has action starting at the beginning, and lasting all the way through. It's the kind of book that makes you keep reading: I couldn't put the book down unless I had read 50 or so pages. In a nutshell, it's about a young hare who wanted to join a group of warrior hares called the Long Patrol to do battle with them, but his father won't let him. He runs away from home to join them. He and the Long Patrol band together to defeat a group of vermin called the Rapscallions, who had formerly attacked a mountain called Salamandastron, where they are from. It's perfect if you like anima! ls. There are hares, waterhogs, weasels, ferrets, badgers, shrews, otters, squirrels, moles, and more animals. Their names are interesting, too. The enemy is named Damug Warfang, and the main character is named Tamello de Fformello Tussock. This is also great if you like war. In battle, it describes deaths in ways like,"The weasel looked down at his stomach as a blood-covered arrow seemed to shoot out from it." The way the Redwallers defeated the Rapscallions was amazing. You think they're going to die, then they are saved. You'll have to read it to find out how. This book also has great riddles, and is full of trickery among the animals. Two hares even diguise themselves as Rapscallions. I loved this book, and I'm sure you will too.
Rating: Summary: The Long Patrol is a very exciting and well-written book. Review: The Long Patrol is an exciting book because there are lots of battles and scrimages between the characters. It is also exciting because a young hare about as old as ME goes on an adventure! Also, the battlescenes are vivid. The Long Patrol is a well-written book because Jacques' writing makes the characters stand out like real woodland animals. You care about their feelings and problems. He also describes Redwall and the surrounding land with his usual skill. I got The Long Patrol earlier this year, and I have read it TWICE since!
Rating: Summary: Good Book, but built on sinking sand. Review: This book is what I consider a comeback from Pearls of Lutra, which is my least favorite Redwall book. That book was as shallow as a kidde pool! This book was a definate comeback, but Jacques is slipping. I would rather wait 5 years for a 600 page absalutelty awesome book than 2 years for a 350 page ok book. This book made me feel closer to the charectars than Pearls of Lutra, but not as much as in the other books. It seems that the series no longer makes the abbey warrior prove himself, he is just proclaimed warrior previous of the book. There's less detail and connection to the charectars, charectars you should know much about you know nothing of, like Cregga Rose Eyes, where'd she come from? It all went by too fast, in a blur. It was good, but not as good as the others ( in what I believe is the chronological order: Martin the Warrior, Mossflower, Outcast of Redwall, Mariel of Redwall, The Bellmaker, Salamandastron, Redwall, Mattimeo, then my least favorite, Pearls o! f Lutra.) I was so disconnected to some charectars that I had to look back in the book to find out who they were! ( But that was only with about 2 charectars.) The ending came and went too fast, with little said about the times inbetween at all! Better, But not the best.
Rating: Summary: crappy Review: This is undoubtedly one of the worst books I have read. I do not reccomend you to get this book.
Rating: Summary: One of the Best Review: I thought this book was great. I am 15 and i love to read fantasy books. I think Brian Jacques has written another great and enjosyable book. I also think that people take these books to seriously. They quote them with battle calls, etc. I like to just read them. This is one of the best so far. I hope he comes out wiht a new book soon. Also if you like these books check out some books by Dragonlance. I suggest "The Legend of Huma" : Heros Book #1.
Rating: Summary: BY FAR THE *BEST* REDWALL BOOK EVER!!!! Review: Brian Jacques has done it again with _The Long Patrol_!!! This 10th installment of the Redwall series gives us a rare glimpse into the life of the famous Long Patrol of Salamandastron. It also provides some long-missed history of the infamous castle Kotir (from _Mossflower_). Join the Long Patrol and their newest recruit, Tammo, as they strive to protect the abbey's crumbling south wall from the Rapscallion horde. The book ends after a terrific battle on the Ridge of a Thousand, and a surprise is awaiting the bad guys! Truly the best and most brilliant of the Redwall books! Great job Mr. Jacques!
