Rating: Summary: "The Bellmaker" is a great book. Review: I like "The Bellmaker" because...
It's plot is complicated,
the characters are small mammals,
the adventures are swashbuckling,
every chapter has a cliff-hanger at the end,
and
the text is wonderful.
It starts out like this...Two mice are walking through the woods, while the Urgan Nagru conquers,
while Joseph wonders...
"The Bellmaker" is a great book.
Rating: Summary: The Bellmaker's story. Review: In this book Mariel and Dandin have set out on an adventure. Martin the Warrior has spoken to Joseph. He told him a poem of what is to happen in the future. In a place called Southsward the creatures who live there need help. Gael Squirrelking let Urgan Nagru into the castle. Now the Foxwolf has taken over. Joseph and others leave Redwall to go search for Mariel and Dandin
Rating: Summary: Brian at his Best Review: So far this is the best of Jacques' books. An out-standing story-line with an unbelievable amount of suspense. His writting style in this book is marvelous. If he does not end a chapter with suspense he'll continue on till he does. Lots of hero's are formed in this tale and many names that you will remember for years to come such as Mariel Gullwacker, Joseph the Bellmaker, Finbarr Galedeep, Gael Squirrelking, Bowly Pintips, Rufe Brush, Durry Quill, Logalog, Blaggut, and many many more. "Five will ride the Roaringburn,
But only four will e'er return."
Rating: Summary: Spectacular Redwall novel - perhaps the best! Review: The Bellmaker is the sequel to Mariel of Redwall. However, even if you haven't read it's prequel, or if you've never read a Redwall based bookbefore, this one will leave you hooked. The book follows the mousemaid Mariel and her friend Dandin's adventure to free the land called Southsward from the evil Foxwolf, the Urgan Nagru (with a little help from some of their Redwall Abbey friends). From descripitve sea battles to vicious land clashes, this book lacks no action. The characters personalities will draw you right in and make you keep reading until you've finished. Truly a classic novel
Rating: Summary: Really good book! Review: I really liked this book. At first, I thought it looked to thick to read, but then my friend Jocey recommended it, so I decided to read it. Meldrum the Magnificent ( a hare ) made me laugh out loud, especially when he was arguing with and insulting the Butcher Bird
Rating: Summary: The Bellmaker Review: The Bellmaker is a great book. It tells about the father of Mariel of Redwall,Joseph the Bellmaker. This book is for the Bellmaker for the dream was his
Rating: Summary: A Great Book! Review: Finbarr is my favorite character. He is like a mershinary. This book was very thrilling book when I read The Bellmaker.
Rating: Summary: Brian Jacques does it again. Review: This is a great book by Brian Jacques. It is a fantasy about mice and other animals and their advantures as warriors and just plain old animals. Joseph the Bellmaker is worried about his daghter Mariel. He gets visions from Martin the Warrior, a hero from before. He setts off with a small crew to Southsward to fight evil. They meet up with different tribes along the way. If you want to find out more about the book, READ IT. I liked this book and hope you will read it along with the whole Redwall series
Rating: Summary: This book is about little animals and their adventures. Review: This is a great book by Brian Jacques. It is a fantasy about mice and other animals and their advantures as warriors and just plain old animals. Two animals that are in other books by Brian Jacques are Mariel and Dandid. They are both from Redwall. Redwall is like a castle for animals. There is a whole book about it. I liked this book and hope you will read it along with the whole Redwall series
Rating: Summary: The Redwall tradition lives on! Review: What can I say? Jacques has done it yet again. I have read this book twice now, and It ranks among the top twenty or so on my booklist. Since I read a lot, that is a high honor!
I have rated this bok a seven, because while it is very entertaining, well written and has much more praise forthcoming, I must admit that perhaps the overall structure of the story is a bit overworked by Jacques. His books, while each unique in their own way, all seem to have the underlying theme of: band of Redwallers and friends versus vermin horde led by tyrant with personality problem. Still, this book is very good for a rainy day at home. You can get absorbed in this (and the others in this series) for hours at a time, and may finish it quicker than you might have intended at first.
