Summary: Slam the Great
Review: Slam! is a great book. It has the basketball for the basketball fans and romance for the romance lovers. Slam is faced with a lot of problems in his life at this point. He can't decide if he wants to go to Latimer High School or his old highschool. His old highschool has a better basketball team but he would get a better education at Latimer. Slam is a great artist and there is a great art program at Latimer. Plus on top of all that he is not making that good of grades. His friend Ice is selling drugs and Slam doesn't know what to do about that. The most of his worries is that he gets to college though so he can still be with Mtisha, who is one of his friends. I would consider reading this book if I were you because the author goes into great detail about everything. Thank you for your time and attention.

Summary: Loved IT
Review: Slam was so good. I especially liked the parts between Slam, and Mtisha who was the girl he liked. Slam is a good clean sports-romance novel that will keep you reading to find out what Slam in thinking about next.

Review: This book is a good book for me, because I like basketball and alot of other sports. This book is about this kid that is really good at basketball but he'd rather play basketnall than do his school work. His mom is really proud of him because he is really good at basketball but when his mom finds out about him not doing his school work she gets really mad at him. He was doing really good in the first term of school but in the second term basketball started and he started to fail all of his classes. This is a really good book for people that like sports, but to play sports you have to get good grades in school. This is a really good book.

Summary: Realistic Action of the Game.
Review: I feel that Walter Dean Myers has captured the real essence of playing the game of basketball in New York City Public Schools. He uses detailed descriptions of handling the ball, slamming a ball through the goal, and what it feels like to have "game". He also uses the language found on the streets to add an even more realistic look at the game of basketball. He also shows the human side of the game, when players loose their tempers and their "game". The average kid of the streets in Harlem, has a lot going against them as they try to find out how to get to away, and make something of themselves. Mr. Myers portrays those struggles realisticly, by showing the lives of people who have an influence on Greg. This includes Ice, his best friend, who ends up proving that he is a dealer of crack. The video that Greg worked throughout the book, showed Harlem as he seen it through the camera lens. I would highly recommend this book to anybody, but especially to high school students to understand the complexities of being a student and an athlete.

Summary: Slam, a boys life in a white school............
Review: I though the book was good, the way Walter Dean Myers wrote about a boy in the inner city doing what he loves best which is basketball. But his bestfriend is dealing crack and his grandma is in the hospital dying. Some of the things in this book I can relate to because I come for a small city in the Bay Area and I see lots of people dealing stuff. So I gave this book 4 stars and how ever reads this I recomend them to read "Slam."

Summary: Slam
Review: I read the book Slam! by Walter Dean Myers; this book was a graet book.I like how the author put it in first person and showed what it was like to live on the rough streets of an inner city. Myers shows what the daily life is like and what their schools do diferently than us. The book had a great background and plot of the story, I especially like how the main character struggles with his grades, because if he doesn't keep his grades up he can't play basketball. The whole book was great; there is nothing I dislike about this book, and I would recomend it to anyone who likes basketball or enjoys a good book.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: This book doesn't just score, it slams!
Review: Slam!, is an excellent book, especially if you are into basketball, but even if you are not, you will still admire this book. Greg Harris, better known as, "Slam" goes through some tough situations, both on and off the court. His abilities to play basketball are doubted at first, but once he gets his action, he proves to everyone who the real man on the basketball court is. This book keeps your head in the book from the beggining, I'd recomend it to anyone!
