Review: I liked this book because there was a lot of interesting things. The mom left the four kids in the car at a shopping mall. They walked to there Aunt Cilla's house which is now there Aunt Eunice's house. They went to school there. One day they left to go to Annapoils. I would recomend this book to people that like interesting things.

Summary: Abandoned at a mall
Review: Dicey and her siblings James, Maybeth, and Sammy Tillerman were left in a parking lot in a mall on their way to Bridgeport, CT. They were left with sandwiches, and not much money. Then they all started off for Bridgeport to find Aunt Cilla. They went ten miles on the first day and then rested at a park. Then they met Wendy and Stewart at a college. Stewart gave them a ride to Bridgeport. After they found Aunt Cilla's house they found out that she died but her daughter, Eunice lived there. They called her Cousin Eunice. Then they stayed there for a little while and then left for Grandma's house. Will they make it to Grandma's? Read the book Homecoming by Cynthia Voigt to find out. I think the book is good because you never know what is going to happen.

Summary: Getting Close To home.
Review: The book Homecoming is a really good book. It's about four kids who get abandoned by their mother at a big mall. They were on their way to their {rich}Aunt Cilla's house that is by the ocean in Bridgeport, CT. They only have $11.00 and a long way to go. Also food is a BIG problem! When they get to Bridgeport they find out that her house is not by the ocean, she is not rich, and she is not even alive! So they are stuck with Aunt Cilla's daughter. They call her Cousin Eunice. Soon Dicey (the 13 year old and oldest) thinks that they can`t stay because the youngest kid (Sammy) keeps getting in trouble. So soon they find out that they have a Grandma who lives in Crisfeild, MD. So now there are three problems. How are they going to get there? Plus is their grandma going to like them and let them stay? If not ,will Cousin Eunice take them back? If you really what to know ,read the book "Homecoming." I hope you like the book!

Their mom never comes back so they go out in search for Aunt Cilla, some relative that they don't even know. Summary: Abandoned
Review: The book is about four kids who get abandoned by their mother. They get left at the shopping mall. All they had was $11 and a few sandwiches. The first night they spent $4 on burgers and fries. Then they decided to walk to their Aunt Cilla's house. Each day they could walk a little bit to Bridgeport. They could not buy expensive food because all they had was $7 left. The characters are Dicey (13), James (10), Maybeth (9), Sammy (6). At this college they met this guy and he knew how they felt. He bought them some dinner and a place to stay. This book is very exciting and very good. I like it because it is very adventurous and is very fun to read. I hope you like this book.

Summary: The world against children
Review: I thought Homecoming was a great book. It starts off when Dicey,Sammy,Maybeth, and James are abandoned by their mother. After that they begin their long journey to Aunt Cilas house. Along the way they meet lots of friends and foes. When they get to Aunt Cilas house the children find that Aunt Cila is dead and cousin eunice lives there instead. Dicey takes her siblings to her grandmas house. As they get there they wonder if they should stay there. Homecoming is a great book(even though it has a lot of hard words). It's a must read. I thought Homecoming was charming and clever.

Summary: Them Against the World
Review: I read Homecoming for a school assignment. I normally would have never read it. That's why I am glad that I was in that class. At first, I didn't know what to think about Dicey,James,
Maybeth, and Sammy Tillerman. All I knew, was that I didn't like their mother Liza Tillerman, because she should have never left the four of them in that parking lot. When I was reading that first chapter,I didn't know what they were going to do when they ran out of their sandwiches. I got sort of nervous, and scared for them. They decide that they must go to Aunt cilla's house themselves, and that is when the book gets interesting! They take their toll to go them against the world, not knowing what the next day will be like. The more they travel, the less money they have and the more worried Dicey starts to feel. That forces them to work for more money. They camp out at night, and walk all day in the morning. When will they meet their goal or goals? What are their goals, and are they going to get to cover all of them,or will something happen to them? What will they do if they can't do what they have planned? Dicey keeps thinking of the worst as things go on. As you go on and learn more, the book starts to be a bigger page turner. A lot of people would read past the assignment and then the bell would ring on them. They would realize that they had got nothing done exept read. I liked this book, but I think that it takes a couple chapters to get hooked. I've been thinking about definately reading more about the Tillermans. I think you should too! This book is a very exiting page turner that gets you hooked almost right away.

Summary: A Wonderful Book!
Review: This book is one of the best books I have every read! The story starts out at Peewauket where Dicey and her siblings James Maybeth, and Sammy get abandoned by their mother. All they know is that they have to get to Aunt Cilla's house in Bridgeport CT, because that is the only place left. On their journey, they at times had no food or money. Then when they get there, they find out that their Aunt Cilla really is dead and that they have a Cousin. Cousin Eunice does let them in and brings them to school. They then find out that they have a Grandma living in Crisfield, but they said she is crazy. I really liked this book because it was full of action and I could not put the book down when the teacher asked. This is a really good book and I would suggest this book to anyone.
