Summary: A great beginning to a great career
Review: Cynthia Voigt's cycle of Tillerman Family novels begins here in"The Homecoming." A fast, exciting read of young Dicey'sattempts to take her brothers and sister from the parking lot where their mother abandoned them to their grandmother's farm hundreds of miles away, "The Homecoming" never disappoints. While "The Runner" is my favorite Cynthia Voigt novel, anybody wanting to get hooked on Voigt should start here. A classic novel, not to be missed by anyone capable of reading.

Review: "Homecoming is about four young children who are abandoned by there mother one hot summer day. With no father to turn to, Dicey Tillerman, the eldest of the four children, must embark on a long journey from Provincetown to Connecticut with $11 and change. The bravery and strong will of Dicey to keep her family together and alive can inspire anyone who reads this book. Exiting and intense on every page, this is a book you cannot put down until the very last sentence. Even then you'll wish there was more."

Summary: I've read it three times and enjoy it more each time!
Review: I first read Homecoming in 3rd grade as my first "fat book" (it has 372 pages). I loved it, even though it took me about three months to finish. Since then I've read it two other times. Homecoming lets your imagination soar, thinking of odd and fascinating ways to earn money and survive in this world. In Homecoming after their mother deserts them at a shopping mall, Dicey (age 13) and her younger siblings (ages 6,9,10) must survive a trip to their Aunt Cilla's house. WALKING! Money is a BIG problem, at the beginning of their trip all they had was a measly $11. And they spent $4 the first night! All four struggle to withstand the threat of starvation. And at points in the story, they walk for so long and so hard; you'd wonder why they just don't collapse. Also is the terror of being caught and put in a foster home. Man! How can you expect a 13-year-old to hold all that responsibility! Luckily a couple of people they meet are kind, but certainly not everyone! I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who has a good imagination or loves adventures!

Summary: Excellent Book
Review: Hi! I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good adventure. I read this book several years ago and it was simply impossible to put down. Every part of it captures the imagination as you journey along with Dicey and her family. This book was so good that I even bought the sequel to it and I really enjoyed that book as well. Homecoming is truly exquisite and will remain one of my most treasured books throughout my lifetime.

Summary: Homecoming
Review: This book by Cynthia Voigt called Homecoming is about togethreness, struggles, and different types of strangers. The family is of four children and many say that the best thing for them is to be split into foster homes, but the oldest child,Dicey, who is 13,tries her best to keep them together. While the childeren are wondering around to find Bridgeport, they expirence some difficulty along the way. Dicey has to manage $7.00 for the four of them till they reach Bridgeport. They run out of money and Dicey has to try to think of some way to make money. Also keeping Sammy cooperative is not an easy task since he misses his mom so much, he is a very stubborn child. They met some different kinds of people on their adventure. A few were nice, a few were not. The children were givin money by some, to help them out and they were pushed away to stay out of the persons primaces. Two young men gave the children shelter, showers, food, and transportation the rest of the way to Bridgeport
