Review: "To think and to be fully alive are the same," said  sociologist and historian Hannah Arendt (1906 -1975).  If that's the case, this book will make you become "fully alive."  This quote is in the chapter titled "Thinking," which joins others on goals, creativity, love and romance, adversity, sports, and many more. All of the quotes are written by women. Most are not so deep that you can't figure them out; just profound enough for you to think or laugh. This book is a fun read.  It's perfect to flip through before you go to sleep, or gulp most of it down in one sitting.

Review: ...and especially this latest one. I've almost read the whole book and I feel like a better person already. It has made me see homework as another way to swallow knowledge, not as punishment. I hope this book makes as big as a change in other girls' lives as it did in mine.

Review: As a middle-school teacher, I deal with girls' issues related to their confidence levels, family, friends, love, fears, needs, and wants. At this age it is so essential to help them believe in themselves. I can validate them over and over, but sometimes it's not enough. I'm a big proponent of The Girls' Book of Wisdom because several of my students have undergone clear transformations in their self-esteem, confidence in decision-making, and overall feelings of acceptance as a result of reading this book. It has inspired me the way Reviving Ophelia did, only it's more user-friendly for girls. With its simple but meaningful messages, this book will be required reading for my students for years to come!

Summary: A gift from the heart for my daughter
Review: As a mother, I am glad that women like Catherine Dee are out there promoting girl power! Just recently, my own pre-teen daughter asked me why all the heroes and good guys were, well-guys. I was hard pressed to think of any female role models that would be meaningful to her. The Girls' Book of Wisdom is full of good ones. I'm enjoying reading this book with my daughter!

Review: Catherine Dee has done a super job assembling inspiring and helpful quotes from all kinds of women. It's fun to browse through, and the introductions to each chapter put a smile on my face. The book is cleverly written for girls, but I think people of many ages will enjoy it.

Review: Dee's book is all about girl power! It includes quotes from women and girls that inspire and empower. The book speaks to grownups as much as it does girls. I'm 32 and got a copy for myself. Reading a page a day is a great way to get an extra burst of energy and "can do" attitude. For girls, these quotes will help build self-esteem and a strong, healthy sense of identity.

Review: Empowering book because of the inspirational quotes from women around the world. The book itself is simple and fail-proof. In providing quotes from these women, I expected a book that is beautifully put together like a keepsake. Otherwise, I can get these quotes from the internet. Kudos for the author to collect these quotes, though. They were inspiring.
