Summary: We have given one to each grandchild on their birthday.
Review: Each grandchild (ages 8 to 14) has raved about it. They are getting questions answered in a way they understand.

Summary: Certainly Helps...
Review: Hi, I'm twelve and I'm not one to compare it to other teen study bibles, but this sure helps explain the bible and exposes some interesting stuff in the bible.

Summary: Cleared God's Words to Me
Review: I always wanted to follow God's word and before it was difficult because it was unclear to me in the other NIV versions. But this Teen version has little notes and letters which clarifies how God's word can live in each and every one of us. Have faith in Jesus Christ and God Bless Everyone!

Summary: It was the best Bible I have ever have found!
Review: I am 15 and I have been trying to find a Bible that would help me understand God more. The other Bibles were so jibberish I couldn't stand reading them. I can't read something that I don't understand. If you are looking for a Bible, I highly recommend this Bible.

Summary: A great Bible for teens!
Review: I am a new Christian, and this is the first Bible I've ever owned. It's great! With all the study notes and helps, it brings you to a deeper understanding of God's word. It has helped me so much in realizing how much the Bible has to say to teens like me. I encourage all teens to get this Bible, because it will take you into a deeper understanding of God.

Summary: Very Good
Review: I bought a copy of the Teen Study Bible for my 12 year-old nephew, when he came to live with us a few months ago. I was drawn to this specific volume as Larry Richards instructed a youth ministry class that I attended many years ago, and I didn't go wrong. While reading a Bible may not be something that a typical 12 year-old will do on his own, I have seen my nephew reading his Teen Study Bible, and anything that can bring this about is worth the money. The special sections for teens are very helpful, adding relevancy to the text of the New International Version.

Summary: Good Try, but below average
Review: I can see that the authors put a lot of effort into this Bible, but alas it was in vane. As both an Asst Youth Director and Middle School Sunday School teacher, I have serious problems with this Bible. First of all, it uses PAGE NUMBERS instead of the traditional verses for the helps section. I'm trying to teach the kids about the Bible and they undermine most of it by using page numbers so the kids don't have to learn to look up verses. Second, it uses the much overated New International Version of the Bible. The NRSV is more recent, accurate, and gender neutral. And finally, I disagree with a lot of their interpretation of scripture -- which they present as facts.

These concersn (which apply to a lot of Zondervan's Bibles) prompted me to write a letter to their editorial staff. I like the layout and their striveing to appeal to middle school age kids with jokes, cartoons etc., but overall it's just a below average Bible...

I have recieved a lot of questions about this review, so please let me clairify. For the record, this Bible uses page numbers in the helps section to tell the readers where to look for passages on certain topics instead of verses. For example, if you were looking for a chapter on Love, it would direct you to p 1536 (or whatever it is) instead of 1 Cor 13:4-13. The body of the Bible does still use page numbers...

Summary: Easy to understand, pretty good translation for teens
Review: I got this Bible for Confirmation, and it works really well for that. Bible Promises Highlights verses worth remembering, The Bible Says gives a Biblical perpective on todays life, Direct Line takes Bible passages and answers the question How does his relate to me, Jericho Joe shows up every now and then to provide a lighthearted tough, and the quizer asks ind gives answers to interesting Bible trivia. All in all I really like this Bible, but it seems to be missing something I just can't put a finger on.
