Summary: Royally Cute
Review: What fun to see a return to innocence in a work of fiction. While the age recommended for this book is 12 and up I think girls of all ages will enjoy the charm and sparkle of The Princess Diaries. Mia is a highschool freshman who suddenly finds out that her father is the Prince of Genovia. Already stressed with normal teen angsts like fitting in and finding a boyfriend, Mia is horrified to learn that she is now the heir to the throne and has to be trained to be a "fit" Princess. With the help of her grandmother, Mia begrudgingly begins the training. We meet a lot of characters at Mia's school, portrayed as the different personality types we all know or remember from our own school days. Meg Cabot does a phenominal job writing from a young girl's perspective. This book brought me back to the joys of reading that I experienced as a young girl. I can't wait to read the sequel.

Summary: Hilarious!
Review: When I saw this book I thought "Oh my [...] another trashy teeny book." I ended up desperate for a book, so I picked it up. I read it in one night. It was that good. As a teen, I can relate to a lot of the issues that Mia went through. However, I found myself laughing out loud at the constant humility that Mia suffered. If you ever want a laugh, you can just pick up this book and read it. The style is conversational and modern. There is no way that someone would not like this book!

Summary: A real look into a teenagers mind.
Review: I read this book in a short time because it was fast paced and written in an easy format to understand. The thoughts of Mia throughout the whole novel are very similiar to what every teenager goes through and thinks. Throughout this novel you can experience everything that happens and her emotions due to the way the book is written. It also shows what celebrities have to go through. It is a novel every teenager, and most adults can relate to, whether they are the most popular girl in school, the one no one talks to, and everything in between. I recommend this book to every middle and high school student, and adults wishing to relive their teenage experiences.

Summary: loved it!
Review: I couldn't put this book down. I had heard the movie was coming out and wanted to see it. When I found out there was a book I instantly picked it up. I didn't regret it. I had finished by the end of the day. In the story the girl is having a lot of turmoil in her life what with the fact that her mom is going out w/her algebra teacher(a subject which she is failing). Since her dad suddenly finds he is unable to have any more children he tells her that she will end up becoming the princess of genovia, a small principality in Europe. Because her best friend is opposed to the idea of monarchy and she is just plain embarrassed about the fact she is a princess she is trying to keep it secret from everyone she can. Things go all haywire from here and makes for a very interesting plot. I can't wait to read the second and third book. If you read this book I hope u enjoyed it as much as I did!

Review: I LOVED this book. It has it all- a great plot, true to life, wonderful chartacters, humor and heart. Mia is a wonderful character, completely life like. She is like your best friend. I heard someone say "reading this book is like reading a note from your best friend" Fully true! I would recommend this book to any teenager, and cannot wait to get started on the second.

Review: i thought this book was fantastic!! i read it in two hours... i saw the movie with anne hathaway--very talented actress!! i can't wait to read princess in the spotlight..mia's life is very addictive.. maybe some readers found it as a story done too many times, but I think we could always use a good princess story... who doesn't? a little fun goes a long way :o) I'm looking forward to reading more about our princesses adventures...and to those who didn't like this book, I -- and many many many others would strongly disagree with you.

Summary: I Must Be a Young Adult!
Review: Charming, clever and cute at same time, Meg Cabot takes a totally playful premise and dresses it up royally. The smart, sassy kids with excellent vocabularies, the diabolical grandmother, the totally embarrassing parents, and the hunky Lars all come together in this delightful fairy tale for teens. The prom scene with the most popular boy in the school should be a MUST read for any dreamy princess wannabe. Issues of friendship, self esteem and social responsibility also gently seep through these pages. Oh - and I was thoroughly intimidated by all the algebra in the book. Not all fluff, and Mamalinde would recommend a mama/daughter tag team reading of the book. It has a lot to say to both, and I'll be sharing this book with Princess Carie (our daughter), the Fair Heather, and the girl friends of both boys. I borrowed a couple of little girls, loaned them my tiaras, and went to see the movie - which is cute, and the premise is the same, but there are HUGE changes. So, do read the book and the sequels AND watch and enjoy the G-rated movie and the values it cleverly advocates. And take a little girl or two, or even a <gasp!> boy!
