Summary: By My Favorite Author- A Truely Fabulous Book!!!
Review: Having already read almost every other book that was written on the little insert page under the title of "Other Books By E.L. Konigsburg", I didn't think that she could top any of the other classic novels that she has written. BOY WAS I WRONG!!! This might just be the best book I have ever read in my life!!! How she could intertwine four semingly unrelated stories into one book still astounds me! The message that Konigsburg was trying to get across is a meaningful one for us all; 'You can get anywhere in life, no matter what your backround'. Beats the pants off of anything else I have ever read.

Summary: Awesome!
Review: The View From Saturday was a bit confusing at first (I though at least, but I'm only 10 and it would be easier for older people) but it was definitely one of my favourite books once I got into it. This is a must-read!

Summary: This book is excellent.
Review: Brilliantly written, this book tells the story of 4 children, entering 6th grade, and tells of their troubles, wishes, and dreams. When these 4 get picked for the academic bowl team, there's no doubt that something unusual will happen.

Summary: Confusing at first, but amazingly satisfing!
Review: I love how every character dove tails together. Nadia's grandfather,Izzy, married Margret.Ethan's grandmother,Margret had married Izzy,Nadia's grandfather.Noah had been the man best at the wedding. Now Julian hadn't fit in her which sort of made him the missing link between the team which were The Souls.Mrs.Olinski didn't know why she choose her team until after the knowledge bowl they competed in.She found two things out.First, each member of her team had gone through a jouney. Noah had gone to Century Village to be a best man. Nadia had gone to Sargasso Sea to put turtles back in their natural habitat with her grandfather and his new wife Margret.Ethan's journey was on the bus after helping Nadia, his grandmother, and Izzy return the turtles to their natural habitat in Sargasso Sea.He met Julian Singh(the missing link between the four's friendship).Julian had journeyed to put The Souls together through tea at the Sillington House. You see,the invitation was in the book Alice in Wonderland. The wrong answer to the knowledge bowl question that won The Souls(also Epiphany School) was answered Alice in Wonderland. The question was "In what book could we find the character Humpty Dumpty?"The Souls answered the question correct. It was actually The Looking Glass.Ok,now for the secound thing. Mrs.Olinski, their teacher and coach, had not seen the friendship between The Souls, therefor if you can't see something then you can't know it was missing.Kind of like the team that had answered the question wrong. They had not read the book The Looking Glass so they could not know Humpty Dumpty was in that book.At first I questioned whether the book was appropriate for kids and the medal because of some inappropriate language and material, but there wasn't a lot,and it was a GREAT book so I guess I had to go through the journey to find that.I hope if you see this review you will at least read the book. It's worth knowing and cherising with yourchildren or yourself for a lifetime!

Summary: Not a classic, but leaves you smiling ...
Review: This book starts off kind of slow, and the multiple viewpoints make it sort of confusing. It takes a while to get into. But once you've finished it, you're left with a smile on your face. The story of four children -- three boys and a girl -- who become an academic decathlon team. This is the story of how they met -- by attending tea parties on Saturday afternoons. Don't we wish we could all have friends like that ? Not as good as From the Mixed Up Files ... but worth reading. The only character I really disliked was Mrs. Olinski.

Summary: A fabulous book but not for age group intended.
Review: E>L>Konigsburg caught my attention when I read her novel From The Mixed-Up Files ... Her narration was refreshing and her humor subtle. I read all literature before I recommend it to my seventh graders. When I saw Ms. Konigsburg wrote a new novel and it was an award winner I almost suggested it for summer reading without previewing it myself. What a mistake that would have been! On several occasions throughout the book inappropriate language is included. On page 8 an elderly man equates practicing a musical selection for a friend's wedding with making love to the same woman for all these years. The author forgets that she is addressing an audience of children between 9 and 12 years old. A reference to his wife's cooking would have achieved the same purpose. Instead of calling a female dog a bitch, referencing it as a female dog would have sufficed. As an educator, in a Catholic school no less, I cannot recommend this book. It is very well written and has a wonderful storyline - I couldn't put it down. Why do such talented people with the power to mold fragile young minds succumb to the declining mores of today's society.

Summary: A "Rocky" story of four sixth-grade intelligent outsiders.
Review: I have read virtually every book that E.L. Konigsburg has written, and this piece of work is truly superlative. What is most fascinating to me about the story is how little of the book actually deals with the climactic Academic Decathlon itself - the last 20 pages, maybe? Four intelligent, square-peg-by-choice sixth graders come swirling together like the four points of the compass to form one brilliant, beautiful, cohesive whole. As an ex-gifted child and a proud square-peg-by-choice adult, after reading the book my initial thoughts were "I'd have given anything in the world to have friends like those four kids when I was in sixth grade", followed immediately by "I'd have given anything in the world to have a teacher like Mrs. Olinski when I was in sixth grade." I can't recommend it highly enough; it really struck a deeply resonant chord with me, and I think I'm even going to buy it for myself (last book of which I bought my own copy was Madeleine L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time - come to think of it, The View from Saturday's protagonists would have been soulmates with those of L'Engle's book...)

Summary: Give this great book a chance!
Review: I don't think people are giving this book a chance. Twice, in 5th grade and 6th, I have had teachers who read out loud to us, half way through the book, the kids would complain and and my teacher would stop the book because it was too confusing. I didn't think so, and on my own time, I read it, in my opinion, it was great. You've got to give it a chance!!!!!

Summary: E.L. Has written the best book I have ever read.
Review: The View from Saturday is a tremendous book. It has every thing a kid looks for in a book. It has some hummor, but not too much where a kid is positive this book is not true. It has an exquisite team called the souls. I really like it when Noah tells how he got to be best man at the wedding. I also think the author was being very creative to write this book in which she tell two different kinds of stories. I think E.L. Koningsburg is a great author and inspires us all in our one way

Summary: It's the best I ever read
Review: In order to read this book you have to get inside it,just enough so that you know exactly whats up with this plot. Personaly ,I think its the best book I ever read ,and I'm one of those kids whose parents refuse to buy them any more books beacuase its costing them $40 a week.
