Rating: Summary: Excellent Book Review: I am a 12 year old girl in the 6th grade and read this book as a class assignment. When I first saw the book I didn't think I would like it but when I started reading it I really enjoyed it. The best part of this book was when the four sixth grade kids participated in the Academic Bowl and I also like the way Mrs. Olinski chose the four kids to be in the Academic Bowl. I also liked Ms. Konigsburg's writing style, but I thought the chapters were a little to long which made the book seem a little long. I think this book was better then FROM THE MIXED UP FILES OF MRS. BASIL E. FRANKWELLER that I read and liked also. I would highly recommend THE VIEW FROM SATURDAY to anyone in 5th through 8th grade.
Rating: Summary: Confusing Review: This is a good story, just way to confusing. By the third chapter you're already confused. I think the book jumps around way to much. Konigsburg has written better books than this. What I'm still trying to figure out is, how did this book ever get an award?
Rating: Summary: It was a great book, but kind of strange. Review: It was a great book but kind of strange. Very interesting and unexpected. I liked the way she separated all the characters into sections of the book and then tied them all into a knot at the end. Just one thing that I didn't like about it: there were three boys and only one girl. It was kind of funny when he got the pink heart puzzle. Pink!!! for a BOY!!!
Rating: Summary: Very Interesting book! Review: I really enjoyed this book. The book may be challenging for young readers because it is told from each of the four main characters point of view but with guidance any reader can enjoy this book. I enjoyed the unusual setup of having all four of the main characters tell their story. It made the book even more interesting. This book is a great book of courage and friendship that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
Rating: Summary: A Very Wonderful Book Review: This one of my favorite books. A tad confusing at the beginning, but excellent after you get past that. I read a lot, like four or five hours aday, so I've read a lot of books. I read the reviews and some people thought it was inappropriate. I have been hearing swear words in school since third grade. I am eleven. One of my favorite parts was when Noah's Grandpa made a comment about making love to the same woman. Sha! A shanda far die kinder. It's not inappropriate, it's funny.
Rating: Summary: a Very good book Review: The View From Saturday was a great book! The author was very descriptive and truly showed how people would act in certain situation. I think that the book could be read by the general public. Another book that resembles The View From Saturday is To Kill a Mocking Bird. Both authors seem use very interesting characteristicts for the characters in their books. The storyline is very interesting. The View From Saturday is somewhat hard to understand but once you get going it is easier to understand.
Rating: Summary: A Book That Starts Off Slow Ends With a Bang! Review: If you think you want to read this book you should but make sure you keep reading through the beginning of the book which starts off slow. It's kind of confusing at first and you might find yourself turning pages back because four different kids tell the same story but from their own point of view. It's amazing how the author had all of these different stories going on which were all somehow connected. My english teacher compared this book to a Seinfeld episode because the stories of Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer are being told and then somehow connected. In my opinion this is not just a childrens' book but a book for people of all ages. So if you read this book read the whole thing and you will be amazed by E.L. Konigsburg. If you like the setup of this book read Whirligig.
Rating: Summary: I enjoyed it and you will too Review: I recommend "The View from Saturday" for kids ages 10 and up. It's a great book! The book is about four sixth graders who are beating the seventh and eighth graders in a sort of word contest. I enjoyed the book because in the book it's interesting that the four sixth graders form a team called "The Souls" and actually beat the seventh and eighth graders. You should read it!
Rating: Summary: Great book . You never know what will happen next. Review: I think it's a good book with all the silly tea party on Saturday. You never know what is going to happen next in their adventures.
Rating: Summary: a well-written story Review: This is a nice story, which I find interesting. It is about sixth graders in a tournament of smarts. The only thing I don't like is that it jumps around too much, which makes it confusing. Aside from that, I reccommend it to all cinds of readers, from fantasy to nonfiction.
