Rating: Summary: One of the greatest books! Review: This book is a can't put down book and I definetly think that if you read this book you won't waste your time. I really recommend this book for young readers because is a really fun book. I have never read something like this book.
Rating: Summary: Totally, completely, terrifically wonderful! Review: This book is so cool! It has a deep meaning in it; one senses that it is about human nature, not just four sixth graders. Inspiring, aesthetically perfect. A must-have. I love it.
Rating: Summary: Great Book, Can Be Confusing at the Beginning, Though Review: The book was great although in the beginning it was confusing. When I got about a third of the way done I understood it completely. I loved Konigsburg's book From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, so I decided to try another one of her books. I, in my own opinion, think it is an amazing honor to recieve a Newbery Medal, especially two. Aparently Konigsburg had confidence in herself to write for nearly 30 years. My final words are: A Must Read Book!
Rating: Summary: Great Review: If you have an open mind, and you are quite bright this book is for you. If you're not, you might find it a bit difficult. I loved this book, and if you love Newbury Award winners you'll love this book.
Rating: Summary: A meaningful book Review: I liked this book because it made me think about the characters and their lives and personalities. Julian found friends, Ethan found his voice, Nadia found turtle love, and Noah connected everyone. Mrs. Olinski found her confidince in herself and the Souls. These people were unique, clever, kind, and giving. This is a great book for students and teachers. It is a book you can read again and again.
Rating: Summary: IT WAS A GREAT BOOK Review: THIS BOOK TOOK ME THROUGH VERY MANY FEELINGS I HAVE FELT IN THE PAST TIMES.
Rating: Summary: Engaging character development and excellent plot Review: One of the best books I've read in the area of young adult literature. The plot is terrific as it is anachronistic, and non-linear. It reminded me of a Vonnegut novel in it's irreverance. The author writes from multiple points of view (the "view" from Saturday?), and finally pulls the story together at the end. Super clever, well written, upbeat, and strong characters. Now, will kids like it as much as I did!?
Rating: Summary: A must-read. Review: Once I started The View from Saturday, I could not put it down. It is definitely one of my favorites. This book distinguishes itself in many ways. One way is the refreshing organization of the story. Reading it is just like working on a puzzle one area at a time, starting from totally opposite sides of the puzzle. You see the finished picture when you turn the last page. I enjoyed how the characters seemed to be all inter-related before they even became "The Souls." I must confess, the end of the book was a little surprising. I had to read the ending a couple of times, looking at it different ways. I could stand to read it a couple more times! I am a teacher, and I cannot imagine giving this book to anyone below 6th grade honors. There are many subtleties in the book that I think older students could appreciate more. Thank you, E.L. Konigsburg, for a wonderful and thought-provoking story. P.S for teachers: Excellent book to use for voice, point of view, and repetition in a story.
Rating: Summary: My favorite! Review: Well...it is my favorite book overall but the four individual stories weren't so good. The only one i truly liked was Ethan's part. Noah was just to stupid to be in 6th grade. i can relate to Ethan but i can't tell you just quite how.
Rating: Summary: Mind-boggling Review: This book, was a really great book. The characters in it are like from Laa Laa land yet the way you learn to love them happens within the first 2 chapters. The book binds itself to together and needs no further explanation. Ages-10 and over
