Rating: Summary: BEYOND IMMAGINABLE! BRIAN AT HIS BEST!! Review: You have to read this book if you like the REDWALL books, for it is one of my favorite, if not my favorite book in the great collection from this wonderful author. The plot of the story is a catchy one, but I liked it a whole lot. This book is so highly recomended by me. The is a fantastic book for ages over elleven due to the reading level and size print of the words. YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!!!!
Rating: Summary: The Best of the Best Review: The entire Redwall series is, by my opinion, the best fantasy series ever written. And The Outcast of Redwall is the best of the series. It combines two of my favorite characters into one great adventure: a badger and a hawk. Together these two unlikely heroes must overcome all odds and defeat an evil weasel. The battles they go through and the details in which they are described in are just amazing. This book hooks you and doesn't let go until you finish the book. Whenever you have some down-time, you will want to pick up the book, just to see what happens next. This truly is a masterpiece of a book!
Rating: Summary: good series Review: The book is about Sunflash the Mace(badger) and his friend Skarlath(kestrel)and the creatures they meet on their journey to destroy their enemy Swartt Sixclaw(ferret). While Sunflash and Skarlath are going after Swartt, Redwall gets a new occupant named Veil. Find out what Veil does to Redwall Abbey's inhabitants! It was not the best in the series but a good read nonetheless.
Rating: Summary: Lacking, but not bad. Review: The book is okay. It has a very intresting concept, but still needs work. The storyline is fair enough, but many characters are underdeveloped. Also, here we have another case of "Idiot baddie symptom." Translation:99% of the bad guys are idiots. Aside from that I won't comment on much more about this book. From my opinion, this book is a high three stars.
Rating: Summary: One of my favorite books!!! Review: In the early stages of Redwall, trouble is brewing. As the infamous Swartt Sixclaw travels in the harsh winter, the badger Sunflash the Mace, whom Swartt called Scumtripe, escapes and finds a friend in Skarlath the hawk. Together they travel until they find the Lingl-Dubbo dwelling held under siege. After the home is released, Sunflash stays until an incident happens involving two adders, two baby hedgehogs, and a ditty. He sets out for Salamandastron. While he travels, he meets Guosim shrews and two joke-infested otters. As he travels to and gets settled inside Salamandastron, Swartt combines his handful of vermin with a large horde formerly belonging to Lord Bowfleg. He just barely overcomes obstacles that reduce the horde far down. As this happens, his son is dropped in a ditch. He is found and brought to Redwall, and given the name of Veil Sixclaw. If you'd like to know more, you need to read the book yourself. This book is sort of separate from the others, because of its interesting storyline and unusual arrangement of chronological events.Cameron
Rating: Summary: By far one of the greatest books ive ever read! Review: I just happened to stumble upon this book in the library about a month ago.I had Never heard of the author or the redwall series but decided to check it out.Just for curiosities sake.Well after just finishing the book last night I must say I have never been this entertained by a bookin a long time if ever. The characters are so captivating like,SunFlash,Swarth,Veil, and Scarlath.I have never cared so much for characters in a book like these. You really come away from this hoping they are all real. One thing I noticed was this seems kinda inspired by Star Wars...maybe a forest version of Star Wars...only I enjoyed this better and I loved Star Wars!Well long story short im hooked I plan to read every book I can by Brian Jacques,I justchecked out The Legend of Luke today and will enjoy it im sure! Purchase this book you will not regret it!
Rating: Summary: Outcast of Redwall Review: Outacst of Redwall is a story about vengence . It follows the lives of Swartt Sixclaw the evil ferret Warlord , and Sunflash the Mace the badger lord . The story starts when Swartt and his band of only about 30 vermin are camping and Swartt hears something coming from out in the woods . It turns out to be a yound kestrel frozen to a tree . This bird plays an important part in the story. He ties his slave badger Scumtripe (Sunflash later in the story ) to the tree to "guard" his meal . Scumtripe got away and freed the kestrel and ripped a big branch off the tree . He went back to the camp and wreaked havok on Swartt and his group . In the process smashing his pride , his six-clawed paw . Many expertly depicted characters move this story along with violence , friendship , and revenge . Brian Jacques is a very good author and I would recomend any of his Redwall books to everyone . They are the best mix of medevil adventure and animals that I have ever read .
Rating: Summary: Good series, but the book isn't the best Review: I love the Redwall books, but for some reason this one just rubbed me the wrong way. It did have a lot of the elements that I love in Redwall books, such as great details, however it had a darker mood than most of the Redwall books. Also, the character of Veil was very hard to identify with and didn't seem very realistic. Brian Jacques's way of making the characters seem so real (even the bad guys) is one of the reasons his books are so wonderful. The plot also seemed somewhat lacking. The resolution was a little confusing and left an emptiness as if the whole thing wasn't really completely wrapped up. I have to admit that I was a little disappointed with this one, though.
Rating: Summary: A New Adventure Every Page... Review: You should read this book if you have a good imagination. The characters will stretch it until you don't what's real and what's not, the animals have as much a variety of characteristics as a room of 200 people. Some make you laugh until your belly aches, and some make you cry until your eyes hurt. It's a wonderful book, all Brian Jacques' books are. I encourage you to read this book.
Rating: Summary: An unusually titled, excellent book Review: "In legend could truth be told, Of a warlord's son, a ferret bold, With blood-red paws, he was cast out, But left a shadow of doubt..." Outcast, as my friends and I call this book, this is a work of unrealistic greatness. As in all of Brian Jacques books, they all have a wide span of characters. Starring Sunflash the mace, an incredibly strong badger who is searching for his destiny, Swartt Sixclaw, an evil warlord, and Veil, the outcast. This is one of the many books in the Redwall series by Jacques, such as: Pearls of Lutra, Salamandastron, and The Bellmaker. The story begins with Sunflash, being trapped and beaten by the unmerciful Swartt Sixclaw and his crew. A soon to be friend helps Sunflash escape. Before they leave, Sunflash breaks off a piece of tree and mangles Swartt's paw which Swartt vows revenge on. Along the way, each party encounters many adventures including Veil, Swartt's son. Will Veil every meet his father? Will Sunflash ever find his destiny? How many feasts are in this book? You'll need to read Outcast of Redwall to find the answers. Trust me, you won't regret it!
