Rating: Summary: Good book, but not outstanding. Review: I am a big fan of all Redwall books, and overall this book came out to be good but not outstanding. Most of book 1 was about the badgerlord Sunflash the Mace and how he came to be, not really about the real outcast himself. In book 2 they did not really show the whole nature of the ferret Veil(who is the "outcast") it baiscly show veil being outcasted from Redwall and his old caretaker following him.The book could of gone longer to make it much better. It did not have much of an outstanding ending, the ending was way too short. Overall however, it was pretty good. In my personal opinion the best Redwall book is The Long Patrol.
Rating: Summary: Outcast of Redwall Review: This book is about an abanded son of a ferret warlord who must find his destiny beyond the walls of Redwall. He finds Redwall but commits a terrible crime and is banned forever. When his friends go to find him and see him fighting his father. Does he kill his father and is accepted back at Redwall? Read to find out. This book is almost always filled with action, and you don't know what will happen next. This book is one of the best books in the series (of course I haven't read them all yet). It truly deserves an award. Wars with little animals might seem wierd if you have not read the book. These books keep getting better and better. This is one of the best series in the world.
Rating: Summary: What's with the title, dude? Review: I wanted to read about a character that wasn't usual do-gooder Redwall mouse or squirrel or whatever. So I thought, a story about a shade of grey type ferret. AN ACTUAL CHANGE! How about that? Instead we get Super-Badger and the acutal OUTCASTING doesn't even happen until the LAST PAGE of Book 2 (of 3 btw). The (non) story between swartt and his dirty little secret son was so much more interesting than anything between that friggin badger and stupid bird. If you're going to call this "Outcast of Redwall", make it about the Outcast of Redwall. This should have been called "Another Invincible Badger in the Land of Mossflower". Horrible, just awful.
Rating: Summary: Spectacular! Review: I loved this book! If you're into redwall, then you HAVE to read this book! This is probably my favorite! Brian Jacques is such a great writer.
Rating: Summary: Drew petty Review: This book is okay but it starts out really boring. Although I am a big brian jacques fan and I love redwall, this book is kind of disappointing. but don't get discouraged this book gets better
Rating: Summary: The Outcast of Redwall Review: The Outcast of Redwall By: Brian Jacques Reviewed by: J. Cho Period: 1 The Outcast of Redwall is about a badger, named Sunflash the Mace, and a ferret named, Swarrt Sixclaw. They¡¯re enemies. Big enemies. Ever since Sunflash has been a cub Swarrt took him away from his parents. He starved him, beat him up, and kept him as a slave. One day a hawk was frozen. Sunflash tried to unfreeze him by giving him body heat. Soon the hawk broke Sunflash free from the ropes that bound him. After that, Sunflash attacked Swarrt and his followers, and Sunflash crushed Swarrt¡¯s sixclaw. After that Sunflash and Skarlath have been best friends. But Sunflash and Swarrt have been worse enemies and both of them sworn to themselves that they will kill their enemy. Even though Swarrt doesn¡¯t fulfill that, Sunflash does, but on the way he looses his best friend, Skarlath. One of the few things that I like about this book is the excitement. How the book can have so many wonderful things in there. For instance, the food that the characters cook, it seems like they¡¯re right there next to you cooking it. It also makes your mouth water. ¡°A lot more oats to thicken it up, less salt, more greensap milk than water, a good portion of honeycomb, maybe some dried fruit, apple rings, hazelnuts. Don¡¯t let it cook too long, turn it out onto a tray to cool, slice it up in squares, and you¡¯ve got good sweet oatcake, best eaten warm from an oven.¡± That seems very good! The other thing I like about this book is where the book goes from, one scenery to another. It goes back and forth. For example, there are three different scenes, or settings. The first one is wherever Sunflash is or whatever he is doing. The second one is where the Swarrt is and what he¡¯s doing. The last one is the woodlander¡¯s that live in Redwall. And somehow everybody is connected by one thing. For example, Sunflash¡¯s mother is at Redwall. Her name is Bella. ¡°¡±The silver badger picked up the carved, silver-mounted stick she used for walking. ¡°Thank you, Meriam, I felt that I must look my best on the day I meet my son the Badger Lord.¡±¡± My favorite part of this book is sad but I like it because it shows what a friend really means and how they can change your life. When Nightshade a vixen shoots an arrow at Skarlath. But Sunflash get very mad and his warrior blood boils and he actually get even with the killer of his best friend. He weeps when he is about to kill the vixen. That shows what a friend really means to you.
Rating: Summary: A good and exciting story...one of the best! Review: Outcast of Redwall is another of my favorite Redwall books because it's full of fun and adventure. The main character is usually a mouse, badger, or squirrel, but this time, the main character is a half good and half bad ferret named Veil who was abandoned and taken in by the Redwall creatures. The bad creature in this book is Swartt Sixclaw, Veil's father. The first part of the book is about Swartt. From the second book, it gets more exciting-it tells about Veil in the Redwall Abbey. Everyone in the Redwall Abbey distrusts and does not like Veil except for Bryony, a kind mouse. Veil then is told to go away from the Redwall Abbey for a terrible crime he had done, but Bryony follows him. Read on as Veil goes on and has to choose whether he would follow Bryony back to the Redwall Abbey, or run away and become bad. This book is very fun, and also one of my favorite books. This book is great!
Rating: Summary: The enemy has returned in a different form Review: The OutCast of Redwall is yet another thrilling story told by Brian Jacques which grips the heart of readers, making them read on, not want to put their book down. And i must say that once you pick up the book, you'll find it very hard to put down! Here you meet new charaters of evil, good, pure-heart, and misunderstood. Thrown away from his father's band of vermin, a baby ferrate ( i think ) who grows up inside the mighty Abby Walls of Redwall where there is peace. But this baby ferrate has plans of his own. He is given the name Veil, for more reasons then one reason, and is the trouble maker who finally comes to the point of almost killing some creatur! After being caught of attempt murder, he is kicked out of the place he bitterly called home and before running off into the cruel world, shaking his 6 claw paw that he had inherited from his father,he yells to the abby creatures, ,"... See these paws, well, you dyed them red, an' red they'll stay, to remind me that someday I'll be back! Aye, with my own horde( a group of ruthless vermin), I'll tear this Abbey apart, stone by stone, then I'll slay ever livin one of you, i promise!" ok maybe not they most comfoting things to say but what else would you say if you were kicked out of your home and forced to live in the wilderness by yourself? Once Veil leaves, his guardian, Bryony who was the only one who took him in, followed him, covincing herself that he could and would change. And so that jury began. But then Veil's father that he never knew, Swartt Sixclaw, is also on a mission to find the Badger who paralized his paw, Sunflash the Mace. At the end, they all meet accidently for a smack down! i will not tell you anymore for it would spoil the surprise. But all i can ask you is, Was Veil as evil as some creatures though he was? For as the old Badger mother, Bella wrote: Give him a name and leave him awhile, Viel may leave to be evil and vile, Though i hope my prediction will fail, and evil so vile will not live in Veil. other then that, this story is a book inside a book. i could go on and on but i am runnin out of room, so here is what you will find and more! You'll find all creatures that live in woodlands in this story. that means from birds to moles. each has their own funny dioglue that will always put a smile on your face. but what i don't recomend though is reading a feasting part on an empty stomach! Wonderful detail and a wonderful plot and story go very well to make this book. Some people don't think that this story is great but to me, i can't think any but "Redwall" to be less then 5 stars!
Rating: Summary: Outcast of Redwall, a great Brian Jacques! Review: This book is one of Brian Jacques's greats.Based in the Mossflower forest, a Ferret and a Badger promise war on each other. This great book is about these two best following each other on a sworn oath to slay one another.Actually when I read it, I couldn't put it down!
Rating: Summary: The Outcast of Redwall Review: You should read The Outcast of Redwall because it has adventure and is action-packed.I likeed the book because it was adventurous and I like adventures. In the beginning, all of the animals were going to the redwall. The story is about a group of animals and sometimes they don't get along. Then there was a group of rats that were trying to kill the animals. The climax is when they needed to kill the group of rats. I like the fight with the rabbit and the squirrel. The end of the book is suspenseful. Will the animals get away from the rats? Read and find out...
