Rating: Summary: Wonderfull Review: amazing! Unexpected! when I started out reading the book I thought it was sunflash who was the outcast but it was Viel
Rating: Summary: Magnificent! My favorite! Review: No matter what other people say, in my opinion, Outcast of Redwall is the best book ever written. Yes, it COULD do without mentioning Redwall, Bryony, or Veil, but other than that, it can't be beaten by any other book I've ever read! Outcast of Redwall is a necessity to the Redwall Series.
Rating: Summary: Not bad.... Review: Redwall is the best of any fantasy series today (or ever!). Unfortunately, nothing's perfect. 'The Outcast of Redwall' was a pretty good book, but it definetely didn't live up to 'Redwall'. The beginning was promising, but the middle was lacking in the usual quests and adventures. The best parts were the battles, the last chapter, and the epilogue. Give the book a try yourself, though. It might surprise you.
Rating: Summary: GREAT BOOK!!!!!! A MUST READ!!!!!!! Review: This book is a must read! Sunflash the Mace is mentioned more than the outcast. It makes me wonder why it's not called "Sunflash the Mace". Brian has done it agian! Fun characters, like the fighting hares of Salamandastron. Or as the hares would say, "The jolly 'ol fightin' hares of bally Salamandastron". Don't let anybody tell you it is boring because it is'nt!!!! And agan, it's A MUST READ!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: One more is one more to many. Review: Once more we revisit the redwall series... and this time it is one time to many. The book runs into the problem of being predictable. It is much to similar to the other books in the series. The plot is lacking in many places and it just seems to go on for the sake of filling up more pages with text. While some of the other books were intresting, this book falls flat on it's face.
Rating: Summary: Not so great. Review: This book was too predictable, since it has the same plot as most of the other Redwall stories. Had some interesting action, but the ending was kinda weird...
Rating: Summary: Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: The Outcast of Redwall is more about Sunflash than young Veil. I love the young ones and the great fighters, not to mention wise and calmer old ones.I read Mossflower, Martin The Warrior, Mariel of Redwall,Mattimeo,Bellmaker and am now in Salamandastron.I found mistakes though but they are minor - they are still my favorite books. Give them a ten. Great accents and personalities.
Rating: Summary: My First Jacques Book...And Definately Not My Last. Review: I would have liked to rate this book an 11...I loved it! I bought it because I was looking for something good to read over the summer...I didn't get that. I got an extraordinary book to last me a couple hours. I loved it! I kept myself up to finish it. It went everywhere with me. In the middle it got lost...I went insane! I bought another copy as soon as I could...the onlly thing I've bought so far I don't regret. I loved it! The characters are so real, the personification so complete, the story so totally, absolutely, amazingly AWESOME! If you haven't read this book, get off your sofa and buy it! You won't regret it!!!!:)
Rating: Summary: The worst in the series. Review: This book has to be the worst book in the entire series. The plot and action are SOOO slow compared to Mattimeo and the Bellmaker. I have been a rabid Redwall fan for the longest time, and to tell you the truth, this one is worth skipping. There was really no point in the baby sixclaw, for he never did anything that the book flap said he did, and some parts didn't make sense.
Rating: Summary: Can't wait! Review: Outcast of Redwall by Brian Jacques is a wonderful display of the artistry that comes in to play when you are writting a book. Outcast held my attention the hole way through. It tickled my funny bone at the antics at some of the characters. It made my mouth water at the descriptions of the vasts banquets which Redwallers call a simple meal. Oh, for some damson pie. This book made me proud to be a "good guy". Jacques also had me guess which accent went to which animal, hares I believe are English (maybe).
The only thing that I would critize Jacques on would be his inconsistency through the series. There are few that I was able to pick out, but I don't want to ruin this perfectly good book for the avid Redwall Readers. I was able to forgo the subtle differences, because of the wonderful plot.
All I have to say to Jacques is I can't wait for Pearls of Lutra to come out in paperback, so I can continue my series
