Rating: Summary: A Must-Read Review: FOUR PERFECT PEBBLES is just one of thousands of such stories that mandate telling and retelling. Simply and beautifully, Perl relates one little girl's mode of survival through one of history's most heinous periods. As the author of another Holocaust book, FAR ABOVE RUBIES by Cynthia Polansky, I read everything I can get my hands on pertaining to the Holocaust. This one is a gem that must not be overlooked.

Rating: Summary: Its a great story of a family's courage during the Holocaust Review: I am in 6th grade and 11 years old. I love holocaust stories better than anything and this is definitely a five star book! I have read this book and it is fabulous. Marion and her family show great courage as they fight the battle of antisemitism. I love this book and I want Marion Blumenthal to know that it has touched me very much. It was so stirring that I couldn't put it down. If you liked this book, you should read Never to be Forgotten by Beatrice Muchman. (You can order it here on Amazon.) Marion, her mother, brother and father are wonderful testimonies of strength and courage during WWII. Anyone else who has a story like this should tell it. There are to many people out there who love these stories alot, I'm one of them. Thankyou for sharing your story with us Mrs. Blumenthal!!! It is fantastic!
Rating: Summary: it halped me learn more about what happened in the holocaust Review: i chose this book becuase it had an interesting title, and i thought that it would be fun to read.when i first started reading it, i realized that it was based on the holocaust. although the book was pretty graphic it was nice learning about a major, yet sad event that happened so long ago.i hadn't known that the jews were put through such a horrible thing. personally i don't think that people should be killed, or tortured just because they were born a certain religion that somebody just happened to not like.all-in-all i think the book was wonderful and would be a great for someone doing a report on the holocuast. i would definitley recommend it.
Rating: Summary: four perfect pebbles Review: I read this book several years ago and was touched by the ability of the human soul to endure and triumph. I wondered how someone could go through such a terrible experience and still have any joy or hope left. Reading the book made me want to know such a person that had the imagination to soar above her surroundings in a concentration camp. It also made me want to look beyond my own problems; to soar above them as she did. This book will give you the nitty-gritty history info needed to understand the circumstances of her life and it will let you in on the emotions of a young girl growing up so quickly in a horrible world. It's written for upper middle school age but adults will be touched too.

Rating: Summary: A captivating and painful novel. Review: This book brought tears to my eyes as I followed the life of young Marion Blumenthal through the years of the Holocaust. She describer her pain and love in a way that I thought was impossible. Her will to survive was exceptional. Even through her treacherous experience she learned that family and love could keep her going. And it did.
