Summary: BORING...............!!!!!!!!!!
Review: SO BORING!!!!!!! This book is so boring....it was an assignment in class and I could barely keep my eyes open during the time we waisted to read it.I mean this book was better for like 4th 0r 5th graders and it clearly didn't make much sence. i would not recomend this book to anyone under the age of like 11 or 12.Okay, listen the seeting of the story is like the mountains and you wanna know where the story ended up ? NOWHERE!!! the whole book was about a bunch of odd people in some little valley and some freakish boy that could see the future about some spoil heap falling on his house. which his room was in a cave .

Summary: This Book Deserves NO stars!
Review: We had to read this book in Literature sometime back. It's definitely the worst book I've ever read.
There's absolutely no storyline, plot, and no connections with the characters. What I got out of it was that M.C. (Mayo Cornelius) Higgins lives on Sarah's Mountain in Ohio with his family (his dad's name is Jones Higgins, his mom's name is Banina Higgins, his brothers names are Lennie Pool Higgins and Harper Higgins, and his sister's name is Macie Pearl Higgins). There's something about a trash heap at the top of Sarah's Mountain, and M.C. is scared to death that the trash is going to fall on his house. Another segment of the story includes James K. Lewis, the "dude" with the tape recorder, who comes to record people's voices, including Banina's, who wants to become a singing star. Lurhetta Outlaw, who comes with Lewis because she likes to travel, is the mysterious girl M.C. runs into in the beginning of the story (needless to say, M.C. falls in love with her). Another weird part of the story is the Killburn family, the Higgins' neighbors. Ben Killburn and M.C. are friends, but M.C. is not allowed by his father to visit them, but he does in secret. As you can see, the story jumps around way too much, there isn't a storyline - frankly it's just a book you'd want to pass up.

Summary: Get Serious M.C.
Review: What I think of this novel is that it was exciting but I was not JUMPING out of my seat to read my. At some point of the book were all right but I lost instead in the book after M.C. and the strange girl had the BIG conflict in the woods. Hamilton must have better books than M.C.Higgins,the Great. Than I will read than.

Summary: It Left Me saying - Huh?
Review: With lush language and amazing detail, Virginia Hamilton brings the story of M.C. Higgins to life. She pulls us into his world of mountains, mysticism, family and friendship with power and presence. This is a must-read for adults and children who appreciate literary masters.

Summary: boring for parents and kids alike
Review: You can't always go by "awards." I am having to slog through this book with my child for a school reading assignement because he couldn't figure out what was going on. The truth is, nothing is going on. This is a formless, plotless book with dull characters. You take every step, every breath, every bite, every movement with them for 278 pages. There is nothing to drive the story forward, because there is NO STORY. ...
