Summary: The Power of Three Will Set Them Free
Review: On a dark and stormy night Phoebe Halliwell stumbles across an old book in the attic. The mysterious book is called The Book of Shadows. She reads a spell out of the book, unknowingly giving her and her two sisters magical powers. She tries to explain to her sisters, Prue and Piper, that they have special powers that are meant to be used against evil. At first they think that Phoebe has lost her mind until they experience those powers for themselves. Piper is at an audition at Quake when the chef bursts into the room, she tells him to stop before he eats her unfinished dish. He stops and so does everything else. Prue is at Quake when she says she wants the creamer and it magically scoots across the table towards her. And Phoebe has a premonition while on a bike ride. After discovering their powers they're very vulnerable against all the evils in the world. A world full of demons, warlocks, and dozens of other evil beings. And they could be anyone, even the people they'd least suspect. . .

The Power of Three is an excellent take on the first episode of Charmed. It shows how each sister felt when she came to terms with having powers and it gave a little more information about their lives before and after their powers. If you're not a regular Charmed watcher or haven't watched any of the episodes at all, this book may seem a little confusing. But try to get through it anyway cause without reading this book you'll never understand any of the other books or the show itself. If you're a Charmed fan you really don't need to read this book.

Summary: Decent writing but really only for fans of the show.
Review: Synopsis... Prue, Piper, and Phoebe Halliwell didn't think reading a magical incantation out of an old spellbook would work. But it did. Now Prue can move things with her mind, Piper can freeze time, and Phoebe can see the future. They are the Charmed Ones -- the most powerful witches history has ever known.

But being enchanted has its price. There's a warlock out to steal the sisters' awesome abilities, and he'll stop at nothing to get them -- even if it means killing the Charmed Ones!

I am in a Charmed craze, and that may be the sole reason I purchased "The Power of Three". To watchers of the TV show, it's a novella-ization of the pilot episode, "Something Wicca This Way Comes", and, fortunately, it looks as if this book will be the only episode adaptation. Unless you're a diehard fan of Charmed, you may want to skip this one and head straight for "Kiss of Darkness".

Summary: Power of three rules!
Review: The book lacked depth and feeling. Being a fan of the TV series naturally led me to read the associated writings. But the book mirrored the show perfectly except the author couldn't paint a clear picture. I couldn't picture myself there. As if I were reading a restatement of facts.

Summary: Charmed Fan Must-Read!
Review: This book followed the first episode very closely and even added a few insights into the characters of Prue, Piper, and Phoebe. It adds some different elements to their fanily histories also. I found it to be a little bit boring because it is based on the first episode and even some of the script can be pinpointed in the book. However, it is still a must-read for any and all Charmed Fans!

Summary: How they got "Charmed"
Review: This book is based on the first episode of the hit WB Show "Charmed". It is about three dark haired sisters, Phoebe (the youngest sister), Piper (the middle sister) and Prue (the the eldest sister). They are the Halliwells. Phoebe had been living in New York while Piper and Prue live in their Grams' old house where they grew up in San Francisco, ever since Prue accused Phoebe of seducing her (now ex) fiancee, Roger, who is also Prue's boss at her job in the museum. When Phoebe returns home to live in the house with her sisters, she finds a "Book of Shadows" in the attic. After reading a spell to awaken the sisters' "powers", the sisters find out they are the Charmed Ones, the most powerful witches and that they descended from a long line of witches. Suddenly, Prue can move things with her mind, Piper can freeze time and Phoebe can see into the future. But a warlock is hunting them, as many will. Is it Prue's ex fiancee Roger? Is it Prue's old high school flame Andy, who bumped into Prue shortly after their power's were awakened? Is it Piper's sweet boyfriend Jeremy? Or is it the milkman or the paperboy or the baker? Because it can be anyone...
Read the book to Find Out!!
