Rating:  Summary: Mariel of Redwall was very strong and after a fight good won Review: Mariel of Redwall was a young mouse who was a slave of Gaboolthe Wild's. Trapped on Terrmort Island, she trys to escape from Gaboolthe Wild's evil wrath. Then one night Gabool pushed her off a cliff and into the sea. She wakes up onto the shore and with help makes it to Redwall. She swore on oath to remember what had happened in the past, kill Gabool the Wild, and find her father. With the help of some Redwall friends Mariel found her way back to Gabool's island.

Gabool threw Mariel into the sea in hopes of drowning her, because Joseph would not tell Gabool what the drawings around the bell meant. Mariel is washed ashore near the Redwall Abbey. She has lost her memory and called herself Mariel Gullwacker. After she gains her memory she leaves Redwall Abbey on a misson, to kill Gabool

The adventure is fantastic - I got involved in it almost immediatly. Gabool is a great villain, and his demise is magnificent. Rating:  Summary: Brian Jacques has done it again! Excellent story telling! Review: I have read and own all of Brian Jacques books up to "The Pearls of Lutra". He has done it again. Mariel is the son of Joseph The Bellmaker. They are on a ship to Salamandastron to deliver the bellmaker's materpiece, a beautiful copper casted and covered with pictures and badger lore which can only be read by the king of Salamandastron. Mariel's ship is board by the infamous Gabool the Wild. She is made his servant and refused to follow him and she is thrown out the window tangled in rope and is intended for her to drown. The waves wash her up near Redwall Abbey. She finds her way there and is taken in by the kind beasts of Redwall. She is armed with her rope and accompanied by her friends Dandin, and Rufe Brush and is determined to avenge her attempted death, and find her father if alive, or avenge his death. The king of Salamandastron, Rawnblade, has taken over a searat galley and is slowly sailing to Terramount, the strong hold of Gabool. Jacques adds many details without getting off the main thread of the story.

The young mouse Mariel and here father Joseph are captured and taken prisoner by vile sea rat Gabol the Wild.Mariel later is tossed over board into the she where she is wast shore. Having lost her memories she names he self Storm Gumwacker. She later arrives at Redwall. Later during the abott feast Mariel regains here memory after hearing a poem. She leaves on a quest to rescue her father and killed Gabol. Accompy here is a yound mouse named Dandin who is the first creature of redwall to wild Martins swords. Yes this is before Cluny , Slagar, and Urban Mad Eyez were around. We also learn the origon of the Joseph bell. Which was named after Joseph Mariel father. The bell turns out was made for the badgers of Slamadastron. Along with a Badger lord the depart to kill Gobal the wild. Engage in one of the most villiant battles in the Redwall series. If you like this book find about the future adventures of Mariel and Dandin in Bellmaker.
