Rating: Summary: The Best Little Girl In The World Review: Just like some of the other reviewers this book has also become my bible. I've read it four or five times in a six month period. I really think this book is fantastic and even though it is horrible to make something that is fake seem real I don't know how I would live if I didn't have this book in my life. My favorite quote from this book is "wanting something means you'll never get it" because I find it very true and I find this book very true all together. If you haven't read this book I urge you to do so.
Rating: Summary: FANTASTIC BOOK Review: The Best Little Girl in the World was the best book i have read in a long time. It was very influential, and i loved it. If you are suffering from anorexia, you can relate to the main character very well...a fantastic book!
Rating: Summary: Sick to death of all this propaganda Review: You see, this, like every other book I've ever read on anorexia, started out with a girl who was clinically anorexic to begin with given her heighth and portrayed her as fat.....to others as well as herself. Makes me feel awful every time I read it but I do it as well because it's MY Bible too.
Rating: Summary: Was she really the BEST little girl in the world? Review: Out of all the books concerning eating disorders that I've read, this is perhaps my favorite. When I read this book I myself had an eating disorder, and I found the book to be very triggering - I wanted to salvage "tips" and ideas to aid my own disorder. I also watched the movie which was also extremely triggering. A note to all that have an eating disorder: enjoy the book, but remember that it is a BOOK - not a set of rules to live by!
Rating: Summary: GOOD BOOK, BUT GOOD FOR THE WRONG REASONS Review: I have read this book and yes, it is a great book, but one must use caution when reading it. When I read this book I was in the worst part of my struggle with anorexia, and while reading this book I became wrapped up in some sick competition with Kessa. I continued to use many of the tips i read in the book, along with my own tricks, until I ended up in the hospital. I strongly reccomend that NO ONE currently in treatment or suffering from an eating disorder read this book. Wait until you have reached a strong level of recovery before you read the book. In my opinion, this book is a VERY TRIGGERING book.
Rating: Summary: Love/Hate Review: I became completly absorbed and obseesed with this book. Stuggling with annorexia myself, Kessa provided companionship for me, as I isolated myself from the rest of the world. It however, I don't think was a healthy influence. The Best Little Girl in the World became me Bible, from which I molded much of my behavior. While it was by no means a cause of my struggle, I found myself adopting many of Kessa's behavior. Read this book with caution. If you are struggling with an eating disorder yourself, I urge you to restrain the temptation of reading it.
Rating: Summary: It's The Best Book in The World Review: I Don't like reading but I picked this book up and someone yelled that was the best book! So I started to read. It just pulled me in. I have never read anything more captivating. This book never trails off the subject into unimportant details, you can always follow it. IT WAS THE BEST BOOK IN THE WORLD!
Rating: Summary: excellence Review: A super book that really got the readerr inside the mind of the character Kessa. This made you feel sorry for her and sympathize over her postion in her family. The book also talked and explained many different aspects of anerexia. This book keeps you attentive and I regret having finishing it. It makes you wonder what happens to Kessa or Francesca.
Rating: Summary: An unforgettable book Review: Not to sound melodramatic, but this book saved my life. I have been battling depresion for years, and was recently tettering on the edge of anorexia. Kessa Dietrich is misunderstood by many.Often people simply cannot understand the fact that she is starving herself. Kessa's family however,is being riped apart at the seams. Her food is the only control she has in her world of confusion. This book should be read by every girl, for who has not,at least once, looked at her self in the mirror, and thought"I'm so fat!". This book opens a window into the mind of the anorexic. More over it opens a window into the mind of a person.
Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: This book is really good. I have read it about three times. It really brings you in meaning you can relate with the character, Kessa. I also want to purchase the book, Kessa and can't find it anywhere. If anyone can tell me where I can find it...please let me know. I have been looking for a long time! My email address is rainyday@webcombo.net Thanks!
