Rating: Summary: My Brother Sam is Dead: Review Review: I really enjoyed the book "My Brother Sam is Dead." To me this is the type of book that really grabs your attention. For instance, you can't start one chapter and leave in the middle of it. This book can be described in many different ways. If i had to write down what type of genre this book wa i would have many different answers like an adventure, a romance (in a way) and this story really could have happened in real life. I enjoy it the most because it really has the main characters fighting for what they balieve in no matter what any one says, they just don't change their minds. The author made it an interesting because it is a book that younger teenagers can understand and enjoy but also something that grown-ups could enjoy. -HF-
Rating: Summary: My Thoughts Review: I really liked this book! I thought it was sad that Tim had almost his whole family died. I would never be able to live with my Father dead and my brother dead!I would never be able to do all the work that Tim has to do! This book is very good i do reccomend this to other people! I think it is very sad why Sam died. How he was caught for steeling his family cow's when he was really trying to save the familys cow's. I think this is a very bad way to die. ACH
Rating: Summary: An exciting book: MY BROTHER SAM IS DEAD Review: My Brother Sam is Dead Book Review Set in the small town of Redding Ridge, Connecticut, amidst the heat of the Revolutionary War, James Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier's novel My Brother Sam is Dead is the story of a young boy who struggles to find his identity and true self as the terrible war comes right to his doorstep. Tim Meeker, after seeing his older brother join the war as a revolutionary, someday aspires to become a part of it as well. But as the war rages on and Tim witnesses the hatred and bloodshed that comes with this war for independence, he is faced with a momentous challenge. Should he go against his father on one side, or his brother on the other side? This book is one of surprising turns and exciting encounters that young adults with various types of interests will love. Tim Meeker's story begins when his older brother, upon telling his father, 'If they won't let us be free, we have to fight' (7), Sam joins as a revolutionary in the terrible war, dreaming of one day defeating the British and finally becoming free. As Tim sees the gallantry of which Sam speaks and expresses himself concerning the war, he, too, waits for the day when he can join it as well. This belief is one that goes against the very views of their father, Eliphalet Meeker (who is known as Life around town), a true Loyalist at heart. Sam gets thrown out of the house for his staunch beliefs against the British and goes to fight in this dreadful war of hatred and anger. The common sense of all the people involved in the tragic war is blocked by the hatred that fills their hearts, and tensions start to build up on both sides. As Tim sees this war start to take place in his own home as well as around him, he knows that he must make a choice. Heartbreaking events occur in this novel and thus make Tim grasp his own identity' his being ' who he really was inside. He also realizes a valuable lesson about life as he witnesses the misfortunes that the significant war brings. My Brother Sam is Dead describes a young naïve boy who, while growing up in the middle of an appalling war, struggles to understand both himself and the world around him. This book portrays the cruelties and malice of war as it affects those one loves most. It shows the extent to which hatred and anger can affect one's behavior, and how that behavior can cause irreparable actions to be made with haste and little reasoning. The novel My Brother Sam is Dead describes one of the many families whose lives were torn apart as they struggled to understand themselves and the rest of the world in times of tragedy and sadness. Everyone who wants to witness firsthand the effects of war on families and friends as well as learn more about the significance of the Revolutionary War that has changed the course of history forever should read this book. Rating: Summary: My Brother Sam Is Dead Review: I just finished my author's book and it was a really good book because it includes a lot of action. I learned in the book that the Revolutionary War was a hard time because families turned against each other and broke up. In the book Tim Meeker finds out that his brother died in the Revolutionary War. He feels guilty about his brothers death because he fought against his brother in the war. If you like history this is a good book for you.

Rating: Summary: Couldn't Put It Down!!! Review: I loved this book because it was interesting. My favorite character in the book was Tim. He was very courageous and brave when he had to be. I also liked him because of the way he was with his family. It was cool how he looked up to his brother so much. The best part of the book was when the troops came to Tim's town. It made it more interesting and exciting. The ending of the book was sad. If you were to know the ending of the story before you ever read it than it would ruin the whole story. You know that Sam does die, hence the name of the book, but it is really shocking the way he dies. You would never guess how he does end up dying. This was a very good book and I would recommend that you should read this book. It is the best book that I have ever read before.
