Review: The book My Brother Sam is Dead by James Lincoln Collier and Cristtopher Collier took a while to get me interested. It's about the Revolutionary War in the town of Redding.
The Meeker family characters you are introduced to are Sam, Tim, "Life", and Mother. Sam and "Life", the father, always got into arguments, so Sam runs away to the military with his friends.
I liked the way the authors did such a good job with detail and having it be so realistic. I felt like I was in the book. I wish they would have something more exciting in the first chapter.
The authors did well in telling how the Revolutionary War really began. I thought about what side I would be fighting on. They told about many people who would die for their country. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys war novels and history.

Review: My Brother Sam is Dead by James Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier is a five star book. This book was a page turner. The book was thrilling and exciting.
It's 1777 and the Revolutionary war is taking place. In a Tory town called Redding there is a family made of a father, a mother, and two sons Sam, and Tim. When Sam leaves his home to fight in the war as a Patriot Tim finds himsef in a daze. He can't decide which side he's on. He could be like his father and be a loyalist. He could be like Sam and be a Patriot. Also, there's his mother, who didn't pick a side. Will Tim's family reunite or will they lose dear friends.
I love how you felt mad, sad, and happy at the same time. At times I found myself talking, shouting, and even crying for the characters. I know they weren't real, but they had real feelings.
When I read this book I knew Tim and his family had some hardships and I could ever be that brave. Tim tried to help his family even if it meant death.

Review: My Brother Sam is Dead is the most thrilling book i have ever read! The authors, James Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier took there time to make this book. In 1775, a teenager named Sam Meeker,ran away to fight the British. Sam was on the Patriots side and Sam's father "Life" was on the British side. So Sam's father was agained Sam. Sam had a brother named Tim, that was three years younger.
I liked reading this book because it had very detailed discription and it was exciting. The authors made this book sound real, alough some of it was real. The authors did a great job of discribing the expressions on that the charactors felt. The authors showed how realistic it was in the Revolutionary War.The book was so good,Iwould like to read it again.

The Revolutionary War took place in the 1700's. Sam Meeker and his father get into an argument. Sam goes to war to fight the British.
When I read this book I was always wanting to flip the page. It was exciting and adventurous from start to finish. A couple of times it was hard to understand though.
Ithought the moral of the story was that when somebody leaves or dies you have to cheer up. It was great to see all of the people working together. I think it was an awsome book.

I like the book because it is very exciting at times. It is also very factual with the Revolutionary War and historical ways.
When I read My Brother Sam Is Dead, I wondered if I would be detirmined enough to do what Tim did. This book shows what it was like to live in the time of the Revolutionary War.

The Meeker family is torn apart in the book. The father is a Loyalist, and his son Sam goes to fight for the Patriots. Can Sam's brother Tim try to stop him?
I liked the realistic part of the book. Almost everything is true.
At times the author shows how Sam was being selfish, and in the end he gets punished for it. It is a good book and I would recommend it.

I liked this book so much because it is going back into history and it's really easy to understand.When you read it you can picture it in your head. I couldn't believe how much of this book was real.
I think that this book is telling you that if you believe in something so much that you should try to fight for it.

I am not a history person, but I still enjoyed it a lot. This book discribes many different things. It really discribes good leadership and love. Through my opinion I wonder if I could have been as brave as the boys in this book. This book was very fast reading.

Sam, Tim, mother, and "Life" go through a heart breaking time in a little town called Redding. It all started when Sam went to war. The book has excellent facts about the Revolutionary War. The book caught me attention because of the exciting adventures Tim goes through. It was very good, but confusing in some parts. All together, it showed how hard it was or people in the Revolutionary times. I would recomed this book for ages 9 and up.
