Summary: A great book to listen to on tape.
Review: I think this is a good book even though I hate to read. I would suggest this book to people from the ages 13 and up. Also the reading is good but hard so if you can't read well you should get it on tape like I did. I especially liked this book because of the description. The best description was the part where the black slave Ned got his head cutoff.

Summary: Deplorable - a banal story that gets its tension from cussin
Review: This book deserves to be put into storage and kept there. The book gets it tension from the swear words and calling upon the name of God to damn people. It is a book that I would not have in my home, and was shocked when my son brought it home as a reading assignment in the 5th grade. There is much better literature in this world - why waste time on garbage!

Review: It was very good. It was not a happy story, but it told what it must be like to live druing the Revolutionary War. I could not put the book down.

Summary: A good book for people who understand the war as it was
Review: The realism of this book is amazing. The accuracy of the actions of the people in that time period is right on target. What most people don't realize is that most of the colonists in America were happy under British rule. Also the taxes that were put on the colonists were minor and usually had little effect. This book shows how the general public reacted to the war. Almost all of them were "tories" and really didn't care. Later into the war things became more intense, but the time period where the book takes place was a time were no body that was not a rebel really cared. The book showed these facts amazingly and without a doubt deserves 5 stars.

P.S. Write to me with your reactions, I would love to hear them!

Summary: A wake-up call to people who think war is all fun and games
Review: I am a 7th grader, and I read this book awhile ago. It was really pretty good, and delivered a somewhat shocking image of war (kind of like how I hear "Saving Private Ryan" is), and gave me a wake up call.

This book builds up some excitement, but the ending is horrible. A do not reccomend this book to anybody who enjoys happy endings, but otherwise, look into it.

Summary: not worth it
Review: when i picked up this book i thought that it would end up being good but for some reason i couldn't get through it. The plot was bad and it showed the revolutionary war to be a joke! I hated it!!
