Rating: Summary: Great! Review: I read Daniel's Story in Language Arts when I was in 5th grade and was expecting another boring book but boy was I wrong, this book is GREAT!
Rating: Summary: A very touching book for all ages! Review: I read this book about a month ago. And so did my cousin and we both thought it was a wonderful book. It got us both interested in reading about other true stories about this touching subject. To me it is a very interesting subject although it is sometimes diffucult to read about such a sad subject! I started reading every night after school and I couldn't stop! I have also just recently watched The Devil's arithmitic and Shindler's list. Daniel's story was the first book that I have ever cried at. It was very moving. It has made me think about how great life is today. It has also made me want to speak out against prejudism. If you are into depressing book's this would be the one to read.
Rating: Summary: coldy effecient and true Review: I'v read many books about the holucost and this is one of the best.though there is not alote of carecterization.everyone should read a book like this.
Rating: Summary: Best Book I've Read Yet!!!!!!!!!!! Review: This book is about a boy named Daniel whoes family go through the Holocaust. This book is a very good book, but it is also very sad. If you are interested in The holocaust or like Historical Fiction book's this book is for you.
Rating: Summary: Not among her better works Review: Daniel's Story is not among Carol Matas' better works. It lacked character development, depth, ans suspense. For a better read, try Lisa (also published as Lisa's War) or Jesper (also published as Code Name Kris), her first books about young adults during WWII. After these two novels, Daniel's Story was disappointing.
Rating: Summary: This book relates to how racism affects society. Review: I had to read this book for a class project, and the year before I read 'After the war' and 'The burning time'. I really love her writing because she really gest unto the characters. Even though they may seem depressing, theres always soemthing that keeps them going. Later this year Carol Matas will be visting my school, which I am really looking forward to. I have to say that this book it really good. Even though it may be a tad depressing and sad. But its a good thing to here it cause it will show you that you would never want to be treated that way your-self.Liv :0)
Rating: Summary: I really enjoyed this book and the characters in it. Review: I loved Daniel's Story because it more than anything made me realize how lucky we are to have a home and food and clothing each and every day. Daniel, unfortunately, couldn't experience things we do every day. This book also made me realize that I should never give up when a situation looks hopeless.. Always have Hope! I really LOVED this book.
Rating: Summary: It got me started on the Holocaust Review: I read this book when I was in sixth grade for an assignment and now I've become very interested in the Holocaust and have even been writing my own Holocaust story. A powerful, well-written novel.
Rating: Summary: Intriguing book about the survival of a boy. Review: I am a 6th grade teacher and was in need of holocaust-themed paperbacks that were appropriate for my students to read. I must say this book moved me. To-the-point and horrific details allow one to reflect and think about what it must have been like to witness such inhumane acts of violence, prejudism, and annihilation. This is a definite addition to any intermediate class and above for their WWII unit and holocaust information.
Rating: Summary: DANIELS STORY WAS GREAT! Review: I LOVED DANIEL'S STORY. I AM IN THE SIXTH GRADE AND MY TACHER READ IT TO THE CLASS. IT HELPS YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT SICK THINGS WERE HAPPENING TO THE JEWS BY THE SICK MAN HITLER. GOOD JOB CAROL MATAS!
