Rating: Summary: The Bad Camps for the Jews Review: I liked this book because it was interesting and I am very interested in war things. This story was sad at times because the Germans killed the people. This book is about how the Germans took over Jew's houses and made them work in their factories. Then they took them to a camp to kill them or they will die on their own.

Rating: Summary: Daniel's Story Review: Daniel's Story is a book about a boy named Daniel, who, at 14, is put on a bus and transported from Frankfurt to a ghetto in Poland, to Aushwitz to Buchenwald. Throughout his journey he loses most of his family, except his dad. He spends most of his time looking through a photo album, with pictures of his family, nazi's doing harsh things, and other things. When he looks at these pictures he has flashbacks. There was only a few things I didn't like about it. It was really sad, and a lot of people died. The author did explain everything very well, though. But I did like the fact that there was always something interesting going on, and a lot of action.
Rating: Summary: An Unforgettable Story... Review: This is a truly unforgettable story about a 14-yr old boy named Daniel who lived through the Holocaust. Daniel, the main character, narrates this emotional story about his experience during World War II. From the time when he was taken away from his home in Frankfurt to the ghetto of Lodz in Poland, then to Auschwitz and Buchenwald. Through his journey he learns to fight for his life and never give up. ... This is a touching and memorable story that, as someone else said, it also encouraged me to learn more about the Holocaust. I highly recommend this book to anyone, any age. You will never forget it !
Rating: Summary: Sad, but Inspiring Tale Review: This story has touched my life and has effected me deeply in my thoughts about the Holocaust. Having to read this for an 8th grade journal project, this became my favorite book of the year. This book supplies excellent information about the Holocaust and gives you an insiders view on how the Jews really felt. Daniel is a young Jew in Germany, who is strong enough to defeat Hitler. This book will make you become stronger and more hopeful. The characters are very well detailed and the story has vivid details on horrible events. This is a terrific historical fiction.
Rating: Summary: An outstanding book! Review: This book was one of the best books that I have ever read. This was a very realistic story about the Holocaust. Daniel's Story was about how the Nazis slowly took over Europe and how Hitler would torture any people who weren't just like him. Daniel (the main character) did survive through the Holocaust, but not many Jews like him had happy endings. I would recommend this book to anyone over 8 years old. (If it was read to someone under 8, I don't think that they would understand it). This book is very educational and interesting to read.
Rating: Summary: My Favorite Book Review: Daniel's Story is the MOST wonderful book i have read in my entire life. It combines history, romance, and values wrapped up in an emotional story told by Daniel. I think that this is an excellent book for children and adults everywhere.
Rating: Summary: This Books A Keeper Review: I am an 18 year old college student and in my life I've read numerous novels and books, I would have to say that this book is amongst my favorites. This book is compeling and dramatic; it tugs at the heart strings. This book was read to me in the sixth grade and I've never been able to forget it. Carol Matas painted a clear picture of what the holocaust was like in a way that draws you in. I definately reccomend this book to EVERYONE and their children.
Rating: Summary: Very Well Written and Compelling Short Novel! Review: WOW! This story is surely one of my favourites! Before reading Daniel's Story, I had no background information at all about what the Holocaust and World War II was like. It was a shocking and very compelling novel, to say the least. I first read this story about 2 years ago, and I've read it 5 times since. It keeps drawing me back, with its strong plot and setting development. The characters really got through to me as well! GREAT JOB, Carol Matas! I would HIGHLY recommend this book to ANYONE who wants to learn about the Holocaust and what the Jews had to go through back then.
