But I never dreamed that it would be this, different, the plot twists and turns, and in the end...it's a mind boggler. I encourage anyone who is up for a suprise to read this book.

(Well, O.K., I did put it down but that's because I had to sleep!) The book just had that suspense and mystery that made you to just want to read further to gain the answers. I simply cannot tell you how surprised I was when I finally came to the ending and found the answers to the mystery.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: One of the greatest books of all time! Review: Talk about well-written! This one ranks right up there with "A Catcher In The Rye" as one of my favorite adolescent books. A terse, gripping drama, this is a "coming of age" tale about a young boy trying to find his identity under extraordinary circumstances. Scenes play out as if from two completely separate lives, pulling you in with their everyday trials and historic moments. But there is no happy ending here, mirroring life's often frightening journey. In my humble opinion, this should be required reading in every junior high and/or high school
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: This is possibly the worst book that I have ever read! Review: This book is about a boy whose father wrote a newspaper article about a conspiracy. Then, the
family is chased around by hitmen, and are protected
by the government. The boy is later placed in an institution for observation and protection.
The book was boring, pointless and very depressing.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Totally twisted. Very suprising! Review: I am the Cheese was great. It was so tense, I often forgot
that Cormier is primarily a juvenile author. The pacing
is nothing short of brilliant: start with a slow build then
drip-dripping into a torrent of action. Occasionally,
the nostalgia sections were a little slow, but this minor
complaint does not take away from an excellent book,
with a theme all juveniles should read (rather than
experience!)
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: superb Review: A ably-written thriller for young adults -- not at all what I expected it to be. The ending is totally unexpected yet reveals the book's carefully thought-out structure. The author's other well-known work, "The Chocolate War," is not even in the same league.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: An analytical essay about "I am the Cheese." to help yalz Review: According to Robert Cormier's book I am the Cheese we can never trust anybody. No matter how nice they may act, everyone is evil and may be hiding something. Sometimes, people may have to hide something from you for your own safety, but most of the time people lie for their own good. Even the person you love may be hiding something from you, and someday betray you.
Firstly, in one scene during Adam's "adventure to Vermont," Adam leaves his bike on a middle of a side walk to get some medicine for his headache. He was just getting an aspirin, so he predicted he wasn't going to take more than 5 minutes and trusted the people around him not to take it, but as soon as he came out, his bike was gone. He wasn't mad or annoyed, but dumbfounded. He didn't know where to go, how to go, and where to start. Adam was affected so much from losing his bike, and still the thief was eager to steal the bike inconsiderately. If only the thief spent one minute to consider how the owner might have felt if he stole it, he might have refrained stealing the bike, but because mankind is so evil nowadays, we just can't trust each other. Fortunately, one kind person told Adam a possible victim that could've stolen his bike. Desperately, Adam tracked down the thief and got his bike back quickly, because his bike was the most important thing to him at that point.
Another example of un-reliance is when Adam's mother and father were killed. While the Farmers, on Delmonte's, were hiding from the government, there was one man who helped them run away named Grey. That wasn't his real name, but people
called him that. He helped Adam and his parents to change their identity in the department of re-identification, and every week or two Grey would come to Adam's house and talk to his father about something for about 30 minutes. Adam found out they were talking about how to hide from the government, and some updating news. For years they lived a hard life with Grey, who was basically controlling their lives. He told them where they could go or couldn't go for vacation. He told them the dangers they were going to face and saved their lives many times. Adam's parents were definitely thankful to Grey. They respected him, and trusted him because their lives relied on him. But even when Grey was so helpful to them, he had been hiding something very important from them. He wasn't actually helping them hide. He was helping the government kill them. For years he had been tricking Adam's family, and earned all the information Mr. Farmer knew. Then at last, he had told Adam's family to run away because he found evidence of danger. Sadly, Grey killed the Farmers while they were running away to another state. He violently ran over them with his car, expunging Adam's mother and maybe Adam's father. Fortunately, Adam survived the hit and was sent to mental hospital. This situation clearly proves that everyone can be betraying you inside, because for years they may be trustful in the outside, but in the inside, they have something evil planned.
A third situation of chaos was when Adam found out what was going on with his family. His whole life he knew himself as Adam Farmer, and had no other relatives. But one day, he grew suspicious of his family. The first clues that lead him to suspicion were when he eavesdropped his mother's telephone conversation. She was talking to his aunt, when he didn't even have one. Next, he opened his father's secret drawer that contained a bunch of birth certificates. Awkwardly, he found two different birth
certificates of himself. One showed his birth date one month earlier than the other. Finally, after being caught from eavesdropping, Adam couldn't stand his curiosity and asked his father what the truth was. Unwillingly, Mr. Farmer told the whole story. Adam was told that his real name was Paul Delmonte, and that they had changed their identity to run hide from the government. They were hiding from the government because the government was corrupting, and Adam's father knew a lot of information about the government and mafia. He even testified about it. Adam was also told about Grey, and how he was helping them live, or hide from the government, and how he helped them change their identity. Even though it was better for Adam not to have known that secret until he was older, he still was tricked. His father did lie to him in a way, and Adam believed his father.
Lastly, Adam was turned down by Brint when he was in the hospital. Adam had been treated well and fed by Brint after his parents were killed by Grey. He had lost all his memory, so Brint was in a way Adam's psychiatrist, but only helped Adam remember about his past. Everyday Adam would be given pills, which he was told to make him relax, but it was actually a pill that helped him remember what had happened. Adam didn't know why Brint wanted to help him remember his past, but he did appreciate the fact that Brint helped him remember. However, he didn't know what Brint was up to, and who he was. Though he was never told, Brint was actually part of the government too. Grey, Brint, and the government were all a team. The reason Brint wanted Adam to remember his past was to find out what Adam's father told Adam about the corrupting government. He was never intending to help Adam or raise Adam. He was planning to earn information, and then kill him. Adam had already been tricked three times, all from people he trusted for a long time.
Though sometimes Adam had not been told the truth, the reason Adam had not been told the truth was because it was good for him not to know. But all the other times Adam and his family were lied to to be used and then betrayed. Not once, or twice, but at least three times. Even the person they had trusted for years betrayed them, because not even one person in this world can be trusted.
People can be nice, kind, and helpful to you for a certain length of time, but what's hidden in their hearts is unknown. Chances are, even the most delicate and faithful friend may have something hiding from you. Usually something bad, and may some day betray you. It doesn't matter if you love them or hate them, because if someone has planned to betray you, they will fail you. Even if you are sure they are not hiding something from you, you can never trust anyone 100%. Everyone is evil.
