Rating: Summary: A Book worth reading Review: I found this book fairly interesting, yet it was one of the most confusing books I've ever read. There is an interesting plot to the story which makes it enjoyable. This book was put together in a very unique and different way. The ending is extremely confusing, I recommend having someone to talk to about what exactly happened. If I didn't read this with my English class, I would have been very confused and would probably not like the book nearly as much.
Rating: Summary: The three w's. Wierd, Wacky and Wonderful Review: I really loved this book. I had a great time reading it because of Cormiers great writting style. I enjoyed the overall plot of the book and I also enjoyed the theme. Once I picked the book up, I couldn't put it down. The ending to this story was one of the best endings to any book I have ever read. I give this book a huge two thumbs up and I definetly sugest that you read this wonderful piece of literature.
Rating: Summary: It's the CHEESE book! Review: I think this was a book that was set-up really, really complicated. It's so unique! Everything that happens in the book is a clue to the end of the story. However, I did not particularly like the book because it was so confusing! This was because every thought and action of the boy was portrayed in the way where it takes a lot of thinking and imagination. But even so, the overall story was interesting...hard to put down...especially at the end!
Rating: Summary: Extraordinary! Review: This book was great. I am a student in middle school and I think this book is great. I kept me at the edge of my seat and was very suspenseful. I loved the mystery and twisted plot. I like the ending. It left you to think of what "actually" happened. I highly recommend this book to all readers who love to read all kinds of books. It will stay glued to your hands.
Rating: Summary: Twisted Book Review: This is a great book for teens because they will really relate to what Adam feels as the story progresses and he learns more about his strange and unusual life. This book is a wonderful twisted book and if you love books with odd endings this is the book for you.
Rating: Summary: a good classroom read Review: I am the cheese... It is a book that makes you think about whats really happening. In some cases, the author leads you into having one opinion about whats going on in the book in one section, and 10 minutes later haing a totally opposite opinion. This book is basically about a kid who is searching for his father, and yet, on his journey he keeps discovering more and more about his REAL past (and so do you). This is a great book for kids 13 and up, it would definitely be a struggle to understand if you were younger then that. I enjoyed this book emensially and I think anyone who has been through an identity crisis would, too.13 year-old student
Rating: Summary: An Inventive, Different Book Review: So many people, my professor included, have jumped off the trendy cliff for Bud, Not Buddy, and have neglected a fasinating work in I Am the Cheese, by Robert Cormier. This book balances THREE different perspectives; one first person narrative, a third person record, and a cryptic diary of psychiatric recordings. Cormier proves that with this book you have to have skill. He did something different while Christopher Paul Curtis wrote pretentious, cheesy, and politically correct jargon with Bud, Not Buddy. But as usual, the best writer isn't the one to be recognized.
Rating: Summary: A kick in the head Review: This is an incredible book, especially on the first read. Cormier shows an occasional bent for unnatural dialogue and has an annoying tendency to repeat phrases within the same sentence, but even that does not diminish the effect of this book. To say almost anything about the plot is to give too much away before its time, but rest assured that the ending will blow you away. It reads like a tire rolling down a hill: slowly at first, then with ever-increasing speed until the impact at the end.
Rating: Summary: Book that is a puzzle Review: I thought this book was absolutely great. I had to read it for 8th grade English. It is confusing sometimes. it tells the story of a boy who's remembering his past.
Rating: Summary: Two Thumbs Up Review: This book is really a two thumbs up book. The words that were used made the book even better. The format of this book is strange, but when you finish the book you will see why it was used. The whole story makes you see what is beyond the truth. It goes into your heart. Like the part when he "losses" his dad's present. You wonder if he would ever get it back. It is a book for those that like mystery books, and those that do not like to read. I highly recomended it with two thumbs up, way up.
