Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: I am the Cheese Review: I am the cheese is a wonderful story about an adolescent boy finding his past. The story starts out wonderfully and gets even beter with each page to come. Pay attention closely though, you may not wan to miss one word that might unlock the secret past of Aaron Farmer! Robert Cormier proves how well of a writer he is by this book. Enjoy! =)
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Magical Realism with a Dark Bent Review: If you like stories about long journeys to nowhere, like Tim O'Brien's Going After Cacciato, then this is the book for you. If you like tales of preposterous journeys inside the heads of shell-shocked kids, then this is a great read. If you like to blame it all on the government, this book will make you happy. And if you have the misfortune to be assigned this book in class, imitate the hero and stare at your teacher in dumb silence.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Weird, but Good Nonetheless Review: I was drawn to read this book because of its, ah, strange title, and I'm really glad that I did. The story is a whirlpool of events that happen when the main character is on his way to find his real father. The ending really caught me off guard because I wasn't expecting it at all, but that made it even more great. You won't be dissapointed if you read this book. Confused a little... yeah... but not dissapointed.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: I stand alone Review: I am the Cheese was an exciting yet depressing book. It is so interesting you don't want to put it down. When I was reading it, I felt as though I was in it. It seemed as though you're experiencing the same things that Adam Farmer experiences. This book is about how Adam Farmer has to find and face his past. He comes to realize he has to live his life never knowing whom to trust. He also recognizes his need to forgive his parents for concealing the secrets of their previous identity. It was a stirring book reading how Adam Farmer did stand alone.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A great book Review: Robert Cormier did a great job on writing this book. "I am the Cheese" is a great book that makes you think which you don't encounter often. It is full of suspense and drama. It is confusing at times but at the end it all comes together. The book was so interesting it was hard to stop reading. My favorite part is at the end when the title comes into play. I would recommend this book to any mature reader who likes suspense and drama.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Emotional, but EXCELLENT! Review: I Am the Cheese was excellent! It was also very emotional. I would only recomend this book to people who can handle emotional books. During certain parts I began to cry, others I wanted to throw the book, but I was in school. At first it was kind-of confusing, but at the end it is all explained. I thought the only bad part was the author did not explain the pills. My favorite part was reading about the "Numbers". Until the end I did not understand the idea behind the tapes, but it was all explained. The book was full of suspense, it kept you wondering, thinking, up to the last few chapters...This book was one of the best books I read this year!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: The cheese stands alone... Review: Like many of Robert Cormiers' novels, "I am the Cheese" is quite confusing and depressing. Although some of Adam Farmer's (the protagonist) experiences are exaggerated, teenagers can relate to them. Through many question and answer sessions, Adam discovers many hidden memories, and some of these memories are not very comforting. Adam is alone in an unfamiliar setting (the foster and mental institution), searching for his lost father. Adam goes on this never-ending journey in search for his father, and he does not realize the truth until the last few pages of the book. Like many teenagers, Adam is searching for his identity. He wants to feel a sense of belonging, especially since he does not have parents. His question and answer sessions actually help him find his identity in the end. Even though Adam's real name is Paul, the name is irrelevant to how Adam defines his identity. Many teenagers go through the same type of identity crisis, and reading the book will help teenagers understand that they, themselves, have to find their own identity regardless of what identities others assign to them. In the end when Adam finally stops pedaling his bike, he comments, "...although I do not like it here and I feel somehow that I do not belong here, there is a feeling of belonging, of being among familiar things." This comment is very realistic toward life's application since we cannot always enjoy the situation we are in, but once we can understand and make sense of it, it is easier to accept. The book is a great book to use for class discussions because it will enhance students' critical thinking. However, students must be braced for a challenge; "I am the Cheese" is a very difficult book to understand without any type of interpretation and discussion.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: I am the cheese, an odd book Review: I am the cheese is an odd, but fun book. Robert Cormier'swriting style is unique, which makes the book very interesting I amthe cheese is the story of a young boy named Adam who is faced with a very hard task. He attempts to travel on bike from his home in Monument, to a hospital in Rutterburg to find his father, and his past. Imagine being in Adam's position. You don't remember your past, you are not with your parents or anyone to help you, so you begin a trip to search for them. If you are someone who enjoys a suspensful book, and are willing to try a new type of book, you should read I Am The Cheese by Robert Cormier.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Wierd? Review: This book was really a good book but wierd. My english teacher explained what happenen in the book to me. Adam Farmer(Paul Delmonte) has been in a large foster/mental home for 3 years. During these three yearshe takes a bike ride but never leaves the estate. He relives his past with every incounter. All of the people in the middle of the book are also somehow in the estate. The book keeps you wondering for a long time but then for me it all came together. I suggest this book for almost anyone. And by the way read the book and you will find out why the title is so wierd!
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: GOOD BUT VERY CONFUSING Review: I had to read this for AIG seventh grade. I really liked the book and thought the meaning was very moving. But around the end, I got all mixed up and I couldn't understand a thing. I don't know if I was too young to understand it or I couldn't keep track of so many facts, but I wish i could understand it!
