Review: I was at a true loss when I read this book. the storyline is brilliant, and the sheer concept is just pure genius.I loved the characters, and Iorek and Iofer thrilled me. I just adored it.

Review: I just fell in love with this book. I read piece by piece every moment I had a chance. Truly extraordinary details of the many challenges Lyra faces. I'm convinced the sequel will be as successful and captivating. I like the way the author weaved the story with suspense, dangers and thrilling adventures. I didn't want to stop 'til I was finished. I think Philip Pullman is my favorite so far. This was a heart-warming tale.

Review: I happen to love fantasy, and have read quite a few. This book kept me going, and if there was ever a dull moment, it would only be about a paragraph at the most. He twists up the plot in so many ways, and extends it into the next book too. If you want something to read this summer, get this book, it will keep you interested the entire way through! This is a must read for all fantasy, and even non-fantasy lovers it's sooo good!!!! So just read it!

Review: I've read lots of fantasy books but this one definately ranks close to the top. It's one of those few books that is never slow and has no dull moments. Philip Pulllman's writing style is exquisite abd you won't want to put it down. I haven't heard a bad review from anybody, so if you're looking for something to read get this book. I can't wait to read The Subtle Knife and I'm hoping the third Dark Materials book will be out soon.

Review: The Golden Compass, is by far one of the most riviting and exciting fantasy novels I have ever read. The Golden Compass, and its sequal The Subtle Knife, have captured a place in my heart among such other jewels as A Wrinkle in Time, The Book of Three, and Peter Pan. Lyra's world, and the corresponding parallels she discovered, are rivaled only by Narnia and Middle-earth. Philip Pullman has succeeded in creating a fantasy that will live on in the mind of the reader forever, and will continually pull the reader back for more.

Review: I thought this book was great! Pullman's writing style is absolutely exquisite. There is definitely a reason why it won the British 1995 Carnegie Medal for children's book (under the name northern lights). To the members of EFAAAL, find other books to try to censor!!! If you want trash that should never have been printed try the romance novels...leave this one alone!

Review: A touching story about a young girl who is full of life and adventure and is dieing to go north. You have to get this book! I saw in the library one day and checked it out. I read it constantly. Once I was finished with the Golden Compass I waited eagerly to go get the Subtle Knife. Buy this book and believe me you'll be asking for more of Philip Pullman's great books!
