Rating: Summary: A great book for everyone Review: The book is great. It gives a lot of descriptions about the north I think the book is for all ages to read. When I bought the book it used to be called northern lights which I think it fits better with the book.Overall I think the book is one of the best books I have read.
Rating: Summary: This was a real action-packed page turner! Review: I thought this was the greatest book. A little confusing at first, but it was so good. Take my word for it even though.
Rating: Summary: Totally Absorbing and and a great book Review: I don't read much fantasy (I love SF), but this was the best book of all time. Nothing beats it! The characters, ideas, suspense, mystery, it made me read it 3 times ever since it came out years ago. The sequel is just as good, and book 3 is the first book I will read next when it comes out
Rating: Summary: This book was especially good. Review: The Golden Compass was a great book. It wasn't my first fantasy book, but it was one of the best. The main character, Lyra, is imaginative and courageous. Her dæmon, Pantalaimon, is also as brilliant as she is. The plot is one of those you-can't-wait-until-you-find-out-what'll-happen-next-yes-I-think-I'll-skip-dinner-to-finish-this-book plots. And the ending leaves you thinking, "oh." "Oh." "oh!" as you grab the book and flip back again. :-)
Rating: Summary: Good Book Review: I really enjoyed this book but the beginning is too boring. It took me two times to finish this book. After you force yourself to read the book it starts getting better and better. The book gets kind of confusing in the middle but if you think a little you'll get it. The end was kind of disappointing but I would recommend this book to fantasy lovers.
Rating: Summary: Not a Bad Book, it Really Deserves Four and a Half Stars Review: This was a pretty good book. It was highly recommended to me, so I decided to try it. The story's interesting, the plot complex, and characters good. The only thing that prevented me from giving it a five was that it got a little confusing at some parts. It's still a great book and definatly worth the read, though.
Rating: Summary: Can't put this one down! Review: Not yet finished and one of the best trilogies that I have ever encountered...Although the first book starts out somewhat slow, it soon picks up and the suspense keeps you reading right up to the very end, each book having its own startling conclusion...
Rating: Summary: How Could you resist? Review: This is the most wonderful book I've ever read. This is an epic story of how a young girl must try to survive in a strange, surreal, world. I give this book five stars because it has a very exciting plot, and it also uses very good description.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant Review: Northern Lights(Or golden compass) deserves the same recognistion as Lord of the Rings and The Harry Potter Series, as one of the best ever books written. It's two other companions, Amber Spyglass(Book 3) and The Sublte Knife(Book 2) also deserve that recognition.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant! A great read! Review: It is a real page turner. I read it every second I could at school. I haven't found a better book than THE GOLDEN COMPASS. I NEED to read the next one.
