Review: Ok, I think this book was awesome! The characters were so real that you instantly could realate to them and predict them. It is a fantasy book mixed with science. If you liked this book, I would reccomend Tamora Pierce's books.

Review: This is definitely the best young adult novel I have ever read. It engages your mind and gets you hooked against your will. It rushes along so quickly and smoothly, and then, it just stops. It's over. And you have to get the next book immediately or you might die. Amazing cliff hanger, that comes so unexpectedly, like a dam in the middle of a stream. By the way, this is one of the most amazing things I've ever read.

Review: There is no reason NOT to read this book- the characters are original and lovingly fleshed out, the action gripping and nonstop, and, the best thing yet, the entire host of surprises never fails to throw up new curves and intrigue and entertain. I especially liked the sensitivity of Lyra towards the poor 'ghost' and the marvelous ingenuity she displayed towards the end in order to save her friend. To tell you anymore about how fantastic this story is is a waste of words. JUST GO FOR IT!

Summary: The best book in the whole entire world
Review: I just wanted to say that i think this is the best book in the world. i read a lot, and i have read a lot of books but this tops all of them by far! What i like about it is that it wasn't just one of those "magical fairlylands" with talking grass or whatever, this was much more complex, unlike any fantasy book i have ever read in my life, and the pace was just jumping and i could not put it down. This author has incredible talent in his plots and writing style. i read the golden compass then immedietly ran out and got the sequel which was equally enthralling and soared above my expectations, just as the golden compass did. i am now waiting for the third book to come out and i am dying! so basically, this is the greatest book ever and if you read it i guarantee a GREAT book!

Review: I think that the Golden Compass is a fascinating book full of aventure and fun! I highly reccommend this book to anybody. it is about Lyra Belacqua who goes on many adventures with her daemon, Pantalaimon always by her side. She meets many challenges along the way to the North to find her father. I give this a definite 5-star review!

Review: I have read and reread The Golden Compass so many times over I can't count, and I still love it. If you like anything fantasy you will like this book alot. It deals with other worlds, and epic adventures in them. I felt like I knew the Lyra and Pantalaimon by the end of it (the two main characters). Also, right after you read this, you'll probably want to read The Subtle Knife, which follows it. I'm still waiting for the third one, and can't wait to read it! This is a definite buy, and you'll be hooked right away!

Review: This book was very different than I was expecting. I started reading this book because it was recommended to read while waiting for the next Harry Potter book. I was expecting a book about wizards and magic, but it was not like that at all. I was more like a parallel universe. Like our world only changed in small ways. It was very refreshing and interesting. I wish we could see our daemons. There was one part in the book that was very touching. It didn't seem to me like a book written for the age group that it was written for. I'm sure children could understand it okay, but some parts wouldn't effect children in the smae way as adults. I don't know if they would get it. I was a wonberful book!
