Summary: Audio version review!
Review: Since plenty of people will write reviews of how excellent the story is, I will only mention the audio version specifically. It is a full-cast performance, well-acted and absorbing! I heartily recommend it as one of the most enjoyable audio books I have listened to, in every respect.

Summary: Thumbs way, way up!
Review: This book is truly the crowning jewel of the fantasy world...as soon as you start reading it you get swept away in Lyra's world at Jordan College, and the book is nearly impossible to put down. The plot line is richly complicated, with twists and turns of good and bad alike. It is definetly the best book i have ever read, and the second I finished it it left me longing for the sequel, which is just as good as the first. I highly recommend it, as I am certain you will enjoy it.

Summary: THIS BOOK IS AWESOME!
Review: This book is so awesome. I'm a kid and although the book was a bit hard, it was also so fun! I just love it! If you are considering buy it...don't! Just buy it without considering because it's my #1 favorite book of all time. I also reccomend the Subtle Knife - also a classic.

Summary: WONDROUS
Review: This wonderful novel, recommended to me by a friend, is transporting. The earth as you know it remains familiar, though Pullman's imaginative rendering of it distorts, changes and disorients you just enough to make it magically different. The story could hardly be more compelling, and stars a spunky small girl named Lyra. The intriguing concepts abound, including the fascinating concept of a human's daemons, creatures that shift form and mirror their owner's souls until adolesence, at which time they become one animal or another. But that concept is only one detail amidst thousands more. Like the wonderful JRR Tolkien books, and the Star Wars sagas, this book sets up with formidable plotting, planning and wonderfully appealing characters, and devious, horrifying villians, a masterful story that reads that a thriller -- you cannot put it down. If you are looking to be whisked away with a book that is intelligent, well-written and enormously entertaining -- sparking your own imagination -- get this book immediately. You will be aching for Part II, as I was, once you reach the last page.

Summary: Excellent Book
Review: This is a great book, but isn't sugar-coated. Also some of the content isn't for younger readers.

Lyra and Pantalaimon (her dæmon) discover the existence of a frightening new element that sparks horrible experiments on children. Thrust into her hands is the alethiometer that guides her on her quest in a mysterious, frightening way.

To find out the conclusion to book one, you'll have to read this incredible book. If you're willing to think and have a lot of spare time on your hands, this is the book for you. You'll have a hard time putting it down!

Summary: Best book I have ever read
Review: This book is the best I have read -- it combines fantasy with our real world which gives us something to relate to and something to dream about. The book is written vividly, with emotion and style, and creates the strong desire to travel to Lyra's world. Everyone will love the protagonist and her sidekick as they meet the many adventures. You'll be searching for the next book, The Subtle Knife, immediately after finishing!
