Summary: Great Teenager Book
Review: Frustrated, Margaret ignored Him. She had asked Him to grow, but He had not listened. This is a constant problem of an almost 12-year-old girl called Margaret that is in a rush to grow. It’s in New Jersey, in a town. Margaret came from New York to New Jersey. There she meets some girls, Nancy, Gretchen and Janie. Nancy is a smart girl that lives some houses from Margaret. She also goes to school with her. Janie and Gretchen go to school with her too. They all begin a beautiful friendship and form a club that they name PTS. It stands for Pre Teen Sweeties. They all share their experiences, go over many changes and start learning and discovering many things. Margaret enters the confusing world of a young girl going through a lot of changes without a specific religion. Even though she has grown without any, she is anxious to find one. She certainly has a great connection with God, she talks with Him! We all share Margaret’s feelings and thoughts at this tough age. This book talks about friendship, love, religion, adolescence, changes… it has a little bit of everything. The author hold my attention by showing instead of telling me. She is a great descriptor and has a wonderful way of keeping you attached to the book. The book is funny and serious at the same time; I always wanted to know what was going to happen. I liked it a lot because it is honest and talks about everything that girls think and feel while they are going through difficult ages like 10-15 years old. It is funny and teaches many things. It is exciting and easy to read. I strongly recommend this book to pre teen girls specially. There’s a lot to know and with this book you totally laugh about the great and amazing times of the life in a young girl. Also, it is thought provoquing when it gets to the point that a girl without religion is driven by her friends and people in general to the question of why doesn’t she have a religion. She realizes that the only thing that is going to get her to the answer is her own initiative. The faith of Margaret is so great that even without having an specific religion she talks to God and shares everything with Him. Will Margaret go through this tough age happily? Is she going to find a religion? Does she really love his neighbor, Moose? Is she going to grow at the same time her friends are? Read and find out. Believe me this book will answer all and even more of the funny, ridiculous and even dumb questions that a teenager girl can have.

Summary: GREAT BOOK!!!!
Review: I thought this book was going to be so boring when my mother and teacher reccomened this book to me. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. I couldn't wait to finish the book!!! My life is almost similar to Margret's, it was scary!! I love Judy Blume, and I am going to read all her books, I can't wait to finish them all.

Summary: An excellent choice!
Review: A great book about learning to grow up and trying to grow up too fast. I thought that it was a good book to read because it confronts the issues that many young teens and pre-teens feel. 'When should I start wearing deordorant?' A comical question but one I'm sure we've all asked. Boys, school, friends, everything you need. I can relate to Margaret because she goes to her friends for information instead of her mom. Also religion is an issue for her, same as me. But don't underestimate the power of what your friends can teach you, the living story of every teenage girl!

Summary: Yes. It IS about an embarassing feminine problem.
Review: At [age], I didn't think anyone could write about MEN-STROO-A-SHON(don't worry, you'll get this joke once you read the book). It also taught me that an author doesn't have to get religious but spiritual-yes, there is a difference-, and that a person can talk to God about anything (don't worry, I'm not getting preachy, just mentioning what the story did for me personally). So this book is a tool: a somehow self-contained, spiritual self-help book for preadolescent-adolescent readers, and a preparation for what to expect when the CURSE happens to you (sorry fellows, was speaking only to the ladies on this point). So, read and re-read this book. Laugh, cry, get mad, but also, pass this on to your guy friends that are man enough to read it. It's a lot deeper than MEN-STROO-A-SHON.

Summary: Absolutely a Girls' Book!
Review: Margaret has moved to New Jersy and met this girl, Nancy, who expected her to be really grown up. Margaret joined this secret club with Nancy and two other girls and they all made some rules:
1. They have to wear bra.
2. Whoever gets their period first has to tell the others who it feels.
3. They have to keep a boy book.

Summary: Man this book was a lifesaver!
Review: As a pre-teen female I tried turning to my mother for advice about my female 'issues' I was an early bloomer and none of my girl-friends knew anything. Trying to my mom to talk to me about anything was like pulling teeth, and there was no way I was going to ask my dad.

I was given this book by my Aunt. I was afraid to actually read this book. But curiosity led me to it. I am glad I did. It helped me through a lot of questions I had about the dreaded puberty thing.

We as young women go through a stage where we worry about training bra's, tampons/pads, boys, and most of all "when is it going to happen?" Thankfully this book was there to help. It is a great book, it puts all of these issues in a humorous light. It travels with Margaret through all of it, and it's easy to read.

I would recommend this book for girls who are around that age, and maybe even you men who want to understand how girls/women think. It is a wonderful learning tool and a very charming book. Enthusiastically 5 stars.

Summary: A must-read
Review: I have read this book at very LEAST 20 times. I'm now 11 and bought this at age 9. The title made me a little reluctant... but I read it, and loved it. It wasn't sugar-frosted. It was honest, and portrayed the thoughts of an 11-year-old perfectly. The tale starts on the day New-York one-child family, The Simons, move from their apartment in central New York to a house in the suburbs of New Jersey, where her parents can have all the grass, flowers and soul-food they need. In the midst of unpacking, Margaret meets Nancy Wheeler. Nancy is 11 and well... blunt. She is eager to 'grow' just like Margaret. The story follows Margaret and the other PTS' through their sixth grade year. It is a fabulous novel, and perfect for girls ages 9-12.

Summary: Pure torture
Review: I first read this book when I was 11 and I didn't like it at all. Margaret is such a jerk for picking the handsome boy over the nice boy and for being mean to another girl just because her breasts are big. Also, who in her right mind would *want* big breasts when girls who have them get called sluts just because they wear a bra? And who in her right mind would *want* to get her period when all it means is a lot of mess and fuss? The only thing I like about this book is the insight into different religions, which is vaguely interesting. (...)it makes girls who are "different" feel like they are bad people.
