Summary: Get with it!
Review: I read one review from a lady that hated this book so much because she simply hated the plot and the character's feelings. This acctually upset me, personally, because Margeret(the girl she hated) is a self-concious 11-year-old girl going through puberty and just trying to live until 7th grade. I understand and felt the same things Margeret felt because I am 12 years old and I have the same feelings about life as she does. I loved this book and most of all, Margeret for being the helpless, self-concious girl she was because unlike me, she took the living-nightmare that adults call, "puberty" and made it into something positive to not wish for- but to look forward to. If that lady really hated the book and main character, than she must not know what it means to be a normal teenager or else she wouldn't have been so judge-mental towards young girls today. I can relate to margeret in meaning beyond belief and anyone who has a problem with the character needs to simply, "get with it" because this book is about real stuff that girls go through with everyday and it is not something funny or crazy, it's real and so are my feelings towards the world- and growing up.

Summary: A Six Grade Girl Who Has Conflicts
Review: When was the last time you picked up a book that you really related to the main character and found the book exciting, funny and frusteratind? Well, Are You There God It's Me Marget is the perfect book for you about those topics. Marget the main character has just moved to New Jersey from New York and now more than ever has to make new friends.

Are You There God? It's Me Margaret, by Judy Blume is about a girl named Marget who just moved to New Jersey. Now everyone is putting pressure one her to pick a religion and the only one she feels she can talk to is the one and mighty G-d himself. However witch ever religion she picks it seems a though some one or some people with be upset with her choice. On top of all of this she has to make new friends and deal with a teacher that she and doesn't get. Besides all of that she has to make new friends try to fit her grandma in her life without having her disturb her parents and of course boys, I won't tell you any more, but read this book.

I have read plenty of books and think this was a great book. One of the reasons I liked this book was that I really liked the characters and thought that the things they did and got themselves into were every funny. One of the other reasons I liked this book was that one of my favorite authers, Judy Blume wrote it, and the last reason I enjoyed it this funny book is that is that the characters did stuff I won't do, but still I could related to them.

I would recommend this book to a preteen- teenager girl that likes funny and exciting books about girls doing out ragouts things. Also I if you like Judy Blume and you haven't read Are You There God? It's Me Margaret then read it. Now go ahead and read!

Now you have heard many reasons why you should read Are You There God? It's Me Margaret. I have told you as much as I can before telling you the hole thing away, but there is one last question Margaret has just moved as I have told you and now she is put in a position where she has to survive the 6th grade and make new friends will she or not?

Summary: Why I hated this book
Review: I love books. I love to read. I have read probably over 500 books in my lifetime (I'm in my 20s). So far, I've liked most of the ones I've read. But this is one of those rare books that I absolutely hated from start to finish, and it made me want to vomit. The story centers around a twelve-year-old girl who wants to be "normal". ... Margaret is obsessed with growing up and becoming a "woman." Honestly, she's twelve! ... Also, they talk intimately about their periods. ... I know that a lot of people love this book, but my experiences were not like Margaret's (or any of the other girls in Judy Blume novels). ...Also, some of it is dated, like the party games and the "pad and belt" device. I had to ask my mother about that one. I would have liked it better if Margaret (or any of the other characters) were more apprehensive about growing up, and had not wanted to be part of the popular crowd. ... The most interesting character, to me, was Laura, the girl who was actually self-conscious about her breasts. I think an entire book could have been written from her opposing point of view. I don't recommend this book to anyone, because most girls do not look forward to adolescence, and this book paints it as a rosy everything-turns-out-right-and-cute-guys-kiss-you happy ending. ...

Summary: judy bloom is good
Review: Are you there God It's Me Margaret is the best book I red this year. I know that I am a girl like Margaret and she is a girl like me! I know that God is good and that Margaret gets to make God her best friend and how she is growing up and moving away and making new friends because it is what life is about.
My aunt's name is Margaret too and she talks to god that is why I choose the book! And now somtimes I talk to God and ask are you there God it's me Jenny. And sometimes I pretend he answers.
This book was good and Judy Bloom helps people to be ok.
My brother tried to red Are you there God its me Margaret too but he said that it was a girls book. I just want to say that boys can read it too.

Summary: Not just about getting your training bra
Review: I loved this book when I was growing up. It is a great book for girls going through puberty, and even boys will get a kick out of it. You do kind of feel like you're back in the '70s when you're reading it, though. I mean, honestly, what girl in today's time period makes such a big deal about getting her period? (and other little traumas) The book was full of laughs, but also very real. I felt like I knew Margaret and her friends. One of the strong points of the book is dealing with religion. Margaret is constantly trying to decide what to believe, as her family members (and also her friends) each believe different things. It is a very good way to introduce religion to girls, as many girls are bound to think about the topic at some time or another. With religion included in the book, it makes it seem much deeper than just a girl getting a bra. Without moralizing and answering all the questions of adolescent girls, it presents the issues and allows readers to come to their own conclusion. Way to go, Judy Blume!

Summary: Its A Girl Thing!!
Review: Before i tell u about this book, i want to make sure that u're a gal, not a guy. Because this story is sort of a girl guide but its made into a story and besides, guys will think that it is disgusting or something, since it includes something girls always experience...
Well, the story is about an eleven years old girl, Margaret. Nancy, her friend, let her join into a club PTS. And to be in the club, they have to wear bras. Margaret and her two other friends are wearing Gro-Bras, but Nancy is already wearing a bra sized huge for watermelons. Well, and Nancy's older brother always walk naked in the house but Margaret has never seen his body before. The girls are trying to be grown up and started to read PlayBoy magazines. Nancy even taught them how to increase their bust!?! Now, can u imagine that?
Then, like normal girls do, she got her first kiss and her period. Life was different then....
To my opinion it is a very nice story FOR GIRLS!!!

Summary: Fact Full
Review: Are you there God? It's Me, Margaret is a fantastic book! It is great for adolescents. It talks about the kind of things girls will go through but has a fun story to go alone with the facts. I would recommend it to every girl!

Summary: Excellent reading material for the adolescents...
Review: I found this book was hard to put down, yet I find this true with all of Judy Blume's books. Judy Blume creates these phenomenal characters that allow the reader to be soaked up within the material. I found myself relating to Margaret and her everyday issues in many ways as I was a young teen entering the risky world of "woman hood". The pressures of school, boys, friends, and having to choose a religion allows young readers to see that they're not alone. I will definitely recommend this book to my students!

Summary: One good book
Review: This book is an excellent book about a girl named Margaret who moves to a new, small little town. There, she makes friends, almost-enemies, crushes, and a decision to do a year-long project on religion. Her parents each come from different religions, and Margaret has to deal with her grandmother pressuring her to become Jewish, as well as seeing her other grandparents for the first time and having them pressure her, too. As well as the religious stuff, Margaret deals with her friends, her first supper party, her first dance, and girl's body issues, to name a few. All through these things, Margaret has her own private conversations with God. She's atheist, but she still talks to God.
The only thing I couldn't stand was what happened in the end. The message it sends across there was very corny and made me angry, as I am an atheist. But aside from the end, this was a fun, enjoyable, identifiable read that you would like.
