Rating: Summary: Are you there God? Thanks for this book Review: I am 12 and I can really relate to this book. It is so realistic. If you are a teen it may be too young, but for preteens its GREAT! All I can say is buy it.
Rating: Summary: A MUST FOR EVERY PRE-TEEN GIRL Review: I recall this book when I was young and it's as good then as it is now. Judy Blume speaks in terms that are easy to relate to and she just has a way of making sure you don't put the book down for a moment unless you want to miss the next scene. It's a sure win with any young girl and a nice start off to pre-teenhood. She communicates with God the entire time and she lets him know what's new and what's happening so she's not alone. So many people can relate to this book on so many levels. Even as adults I'd suggest if you haven't read it, read it first then pass it to your pre-teen or teen - you won't regret it. It's sure to be chatted about after you've both shared the book togther.
Rating: Summary: Reality! Review: This book was terrific! Every minute was like a comparison to my life. Any teenage girl can relate to this book. Blume once again took the audience into the story and made them feel everything the characters go through. Pure reality is the total theme of this humorous novel!
Rating: Summary: A Must Read Review: When was the last time you read a book and could not stop? If you haven't you must read Are You There God? It's Me Margaret by: Judy Blume. "Can I go to the temple with you sometime?" Margaret asked her grandmother. Her father and grandmother are both Jewish, but her mother is Catholic. Margaret is a typical teenager who you could relate to, because she is dealing with typical situations. She is trying to decide what religion she wants to be. She is also dealing with a new school, because she moved at the same time. I would really recommend this book to any teenager, if they enjoy reading a contemorary realistic fiction novel. It is about a teen that may be dealing with the same problems as you. Judy Blume has written other books you may enjoy. This is not her first novel.
Rating: Summary: A great book for pre-teens Review: This book is one of my favorite books. It's funny reading about the things that Margaret goes through on her way through puberty.I think the 4 PTS are a group of great friends, helping each other by talking about the things that are going on in their lives.THIS IS A MUST READ!
Rating: Summary: READ THIS-IT ROCKS! Review: I thought that this book was great since it shows the way some kids are brought up when their parents have different religions. The girl had to choose which religion she wanted to have. Also, at the same time, Margaret had to make new friends in her new neighborhood and deal with her new changes- like going through puberty. This deffinitely a wonderful book- I couldn't put it down! It was like- wow! IT SEEMS SO REAL!
Rating: Summary: you should read this book Review: At first I thought it would be a boring book. It is about this girl who moves to a new town and tries to make new friends. She becomes best friends with the next door neighbor, Nancy. They form a club for her, Nancy, and her other 2 best friends Gretchen and Janine. In the club they talk about boy and girl problems. Margaret feels left out because she is the only one that is not as "developed" as the other girls and she prays to God for him to help her. My favorite part is when they went to a party and Margaret had to kiss Philip Leroy, the guy who all the girls like. I thought the ending was funny because she finally got what she wanted and she didn't like it.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book Review: This book is the best book I've read in my entire life. Margaret Simon moved to Farbrook, new Jersey, where she met Nancy, Gretchen, and Janie. The PTS's are 4 lively girls, eager for puberty to hurry along in their lives. Unlike the rest of them, Margaret has a close relationship with God. Read about everyone from Margaret, to Miles J. Benedict Jr., her teacher, and you'll be laughing out loud.
Rating: Summary: What a book Review: This is a great book ,I just could not put it down. I think it's really a good book. I would tell all me friends about it.Like Marget and her friend me and my friends are faceing purpberty. It is not pretty but this book helped.I loved how Ms.Blume put her older wisedom in this very tough subject. My mother could not be this open. Ms.blume also put in her sense of humer in to the matter. I first got the book from the libray, and it was the older addtion, but this book has been caught up to the time. This book also made me think that it does not matter if you are first or last in anything,My parents an older sister keep on telling me don't be in a rush to grow up,and I'm notI hope you consider this book it is great of both male and female.
Rating: Summary: This book is a must for pre-teens! Review: I read this book in the fifth grade. That was 17 years ago. However, it made such an impression on me then that it is one of the few books I remember reading in my childhood. Judy Bloom did a wonderful job relating with young girls as she has done in all of her books. Margaret goes through what many girls then and now are going through: puberty. Not only is she dealing with growing up, but she also is trying to fit in with a group of girls at a new school in a new city. Not to mention the fact that she has a Grandmother who is not too happy about Margaret's combined Christian and Jewish upbringing. I am sure many girls can relate to either or all issues that Margaret is facing. As I said before, this book has made a profound impression on me. So much so that I am considering purchasing it for my 12 year old neice as well as my own two daughters (even though they are still babies). True this book may frighten some readers, but then again, what girl isn't afraid of growing up already? It lets girls know that they are not alone in this world and that somebody other than mom shares their fears and concerns.
